Projection Report 3/6

~~ I came in a little early today to take care of the Madonna show stuff ~~

Presentation Issues: the spotlights in theater 1 are still a little wonky. Whenever you select a setting (a 'scene'), the light has to travel to snap into place. To turn the lights on and off you have to hit the 'blackout' button, but this does need seem to remember what the last light position selected was. There's also currently no way to adjust light level or spotlight size as far as I can tell.
.... ALSO, during the q&a the spots randomly switched to another 'scene' of a lighting wash plus swirling animated green lights. Fortunately I caught it right away and switched back to the stage left light position. Not sure why that happened — I called Billy to tell him about it and he didn't know either.

Preshow Clips/Playlist: received KDMs for BUFFY, APOLLO 11, WOMAN AT WAR, ROMA, A STAR IS BORN, and CAPTAIN MARVEL. All have been ingested and all seem to be working.

Trailer Updates: sent up-to-date (flat) trailers for Aftermath, Us, and Dumbo to all servers in anticipation of tomorrow's trailer pack changes (see: Kris's email). Remember to update the adult packs with version 2 of the Us trailer now that we have it!! (Plus the most up to date versions of Aftermath & Dumbo)

Special Events/ AV set up: MADONNA AND THE BREAKFAST CLUB with intro and Q&A. I believe this was our first public in-person event (as well as our first event with mics, spot lights, etc). Aside for the spot light issues, this show ran perfectly. Mics were good, the film ran without a problem, all the guests (and audience!) seemed very happy. A great success. Both of the filmmakers' harddrives (and back-up Blu) are on the desk in booth 4/6 ready to go home.

Ordering/Receiving (posters & trailers): we received posters for THE BEACH BUM & dupes of APOLLO 11 (not damaged this time) in the same tube, and CAT VIDEO FESTIVAL (not sure we're showing this one). I put Beach Bum up in the lobby with a 'Coming Soon' snipe.

Ordering/Receiving (content): I ordered WOMAN AT WAR from Eclair. It arrived in time for me to ingest it to TMS (I also set it to send out to server 6 overnight). Playlist still needs to be build and scheduled. (NOTE: I downloaded both the "OV" DCP and the "VF" — make sure to double check if the OV file has English subtitles on it before building the playlist)

** we were hand-delivered an updated DCP file for MADONNA & THE BREAKFAST CLUB. I did a direct ingest of this to server #1 when I first came in.

*** also received the updated NPP logo side from Dropbox. Loaded it to the TMS — we can use this for all in-person events from now on (it looks great!).

Outgoing/Shipping (content):

Print/video Inspection: We had enough time to do a full tech of the updated MADONNA feature in theater 1. John and I did a spot check — looked good to us. (This also doubled as a tech of the updated NPP logo slide)

** also did a brief QC of Captain Marvel in theater 1. Looking pretty good!

Distro Doc updated/checked?:

Maintenance/cleaning: this weekend has a lot of jumping around! The servers are pretty full up. Delete unnecessary feature files whenever you have the chance.

Cue sheets updated (only if needed):

Showtime boards & recording updated?: make sure to add the 'Now Playing' snipe to the outside Captain Marvel poster

Hi-Res: Madonna afterparty. We had trouble getting the volume to a decent level in there — does anybody know a way to turn up the volume in there other than cranking the Mezz panel in booth 4/6? (Also can somebody please walk me through how all the audio inputs are set up in Hi Res for future events such as this?)

Cleaning lights on for the night?: Yes

Additional Notes: moved the mail cart to station 7
