FYI I wasn't actually working the projection shift today but I had a fair bit of stuff to share, that's why I'm blogging...

Trailer Updates: Can you guys give a listen to the recent trailers when you get a chance? I was in to see Midsommar the other night in Th3 and a few of the trailers seemed a little quiet. Hobbs and Shaw in particular could have a little more underneath it. It's not the movie of the year, I know, but action-y trailers like that are a good opportunity to show off our shiny newly tuned sound systems.. We will go over how to make new audio cues in the meeting next week, so we can make incremental adjustments.

Special Events/ AV set up: Blu ray player in Th1 is set up to play the backup for Bill and Ted's Bogus Journey on Sunday morning. Still waiting on the disc to arrive so I may not have time to make a DCP. The analog audio channel on the CP750 that we previously had set up for bluray audio is now being taken up by the 35mm projectors/CP500, so we'll now use HDMI audio (via the Christie/IMS, "Digital 1" on the 750, same one we use for DCP). Unfortunately, the splitter that DMS installed does not pass 5.1 audio, so I removed it, running the HDMI directly from the blu ray player to the projector. This means the PC monitor will not display the content, so if you want to cue up the disc without projecting it, you'll have to unplug the projector HDMI from the player and plug in the monitor HDMI, then swap back once you're cued up. I'll try to find a better solution for this soon.

Ordering/Receiving (content): Will bring Bill and Ted blu ray tomorrow.

Maintenance/cleaning: Alec, if you would send everyone your process for cleaning the 35mm projectors before/after each show, that'd be great, just so everyone's on the same page. We'll go over it at the meeting next week too. Please cc Matthew if you don't mind.

*Dehumidifier in th2 booth already gave up the ghost, so I'll be returning it next week. It is brutally hot up there today. Please keep an eye on the projector this weekend for any temperature warnings.

**Replaced one bad surround speaker in TH3. Can you guys keep an ear out for any buzzing or weird sounds in the theaters? Maybe rotate the theaters where you do QC so each room gets a good listen every week? In 3 and 7, DMS installed some aftermarket speakers in the surrounds, and they are of dubious quality...

Marquee updated?: New batch of letters are on their way.

Nest: Friendly reminder to put everything back where it came from after events. Lots of stray cables and remote controls floating around. Let's keep the projector and screen remote in the AV box under the bench (keys for this are behind the bar, in MOD, and in 3/7 with the other keys). The blu ray player I pulled out of TH7 can just remain in 4/6 so we can use it in the bar when needed. I don't think we'll be showing a lot of blu ray content in 7.

Additional Notes: Billy and/or Dan will be in to check out the 35mm projectors in th1 this weekend. Thanks everyone for putting the work into Mr. Goodbar the other night! Heard it went really well.
