Projection Report 8/15 Admin/Close

Presentation Issues: None tonight.

Preshow Clips/Playlist: Updated 35mm playlists of Once Upon a Time in Hollywood for the new analog sound level. See "Maintenance/cleaning" for more info on that.

Trailer Updates: Grabbed the Night of the Comet trailer from Dropbox and swapped out the Dirty Dancing trailer in Adult and Event trailer packs following Kris's email this morning.

Special Events/ AV set up: Very Animated Sexy Night in Theater 3. This went pretty well except the microphone for the intro was very quiet. I had it cranked up to 10 on the Dolby and was adjusting the gain on the back of the processor with a tiny screwdriver but this didn't do much I'm afraid. When sound signal was showing on the Dolby it was only in the surround speakers, so I think there may be an issue with the connection to the main speakers from the mic input in T3.

Ordering/Receiving (posters & trailers): We received a trailer for Western Stars (Bruce Springsteen concert movie), it's on a flash drive in 4/6

Ordering/Receiving (content): Ready or Not DCP arrived, it's been ingested to TMS.

*A DCP of Olivia also arrived, this is for an event in mid-September and has also been ingested to TMS. This came with a poster and a back-up blu-ray as well.

Outgoing/Shipping (content): Walked two drives over to UPS before opening.

Print/video Inspection: Liz Z. was here this afternoon to do a QC of the short films in tonight's event screening. Everything looked and sounded good, although a couple of the shorts were somewhat low resolution probably due to the available source material.

*Also QC'd Blinded by the Light in Theater 4 after the last show got out. Looks and sounds great. I lowered the volume to 5.0 and moved the lights up cue a minute earlier to account for pre-crawl credits. I adjusted the credit start time on all cues for this film as well.

Asset tracking doc updated/checked?: Updated for Ready or Not. I also added a column to put whether or not a feature has closed captions.

Maintenance/cleaning: Dan came in this evening to recalibrate the analog levels on the Dolby (projector 1 was much lower than projector 2 to make the changes in format from digital to analog sound during Hollywood screenings more smooth) so the reel-to-reel show would sound even between reels. Because of this we have to run the Hollywood print with analog sound only. This doesn't change our procedure much, we just bypass the digital soundhead. I will have the chance to show everyone how to do this over the course of the weekend. Dan also fixed the takeup belt on projector 1 and gave me a little tutorial on how to fix it if it breaks again.

*Updated the white board

Cue sheets updated/checked (every shift): Checked against TMS scheduler and weekly film schedule for Friday - Sunday. I also reviewed them for the week with Mascha and she mentioned that a few manual starts/tight flips (3 minutes or less) were unmarked and two shows on Thursday 8/22 had the wrong credit times. They were copied over from Matthew's schedule but the feature run times were a few minutes longer than what he had down. Other than that everything was fine.

Marquee updated?: Took down Very Animated Sexy Night and replaced it with The Burning.

Posters updated?: Swapped the snipes above Blinded by the Light and Where'd You Go, Bernadette to "now showing," took down Spider-Man and replaced it with Ad Astra (for now).

Cleaning lights on for the night?: Yes

Projectors off for the night?: Yes

Projection cart by TH5?: Yes
