Projection Report 8/23 (admin)



Presentation Issues: No issues. A few of our projectors are nearly at storage capacity (projector 2 was at 100% when I came in). Is it possible to delete a couple first run features from these servers to keep things running smoothly? (especially projector 3, which has a special event this week)

Preshow Clips/Playlist: changed Once Upon A Time from 35mm to DCP shows in the scheduler for the whole week (through Thursday), to account for our continuing circuit breaker troubles

** built and scheduled playlist for Tigers Are Not Afraid. We still need to grab the end credits offset.

*** deleted Hobbs & Shaw from our projectors

**** I did not realize that Angel Has Fallen has the generic action preshow assigned until after the first round began (playlist was built with generic horror). I made an 'Updated' playlist to fix this, and scheduled that through the week. Apologies for not catching this earlier in the day.

Trailer Updates: added the Adult trailer pack to Angel Has Fallen (it had the all ages pack built in)

Special Events/ AV set up: we had a staff screening of Angel Has Fallen in theater 3. I ran it from the A1 playlist — trailer pack looks good, feature runs fine. Volume sounded a little too loud, so I lowered it to 5.0.

Ordering/Receiving (posters & trailers):

Ordering/Receiving (content): we received Blow-Up. Feature has been ingested to TMS. Still needs to be teched for end credits offset and volume.

** Brittany Runs A Marathon came through via Eclair. Feature has been ingested to TMS, also needs to be teched.

*** we were also able to successfully download the Brittany preshow from EVO. All three parts have been ingested to TMS.

**** left the "Art Seen" preshow to download from EVO to our portable drive

Outgoing/Shipping (content): carried our outgoing drives (including Hobbs & Shaw and The Kitchen) to the UPS drop

Print/video Inspection: both Blow-Up and Tigers Are Not Afraid are still locked. They will need to be QC'd once we get KDMs.

Asset tracking doc updated/checked?: Checked and updated

Maintenance/cleaning: updated the dry erase board in booth 4/6

Cue sheets updated/checked (every shift): updated cue sheets for the weekend for the new Once Upon A Time format. Also checked cue sheets for tonight — did not spot any problems.

Marquee updated?: removed Hobbs & Shaw from the front side. Added Angel Has Fallen (thank you to whoever pulled those letters).

Posters updated?: outside I replaced Hobbs & Shaw with Angel Has Fallen, and removed The Kitchen (placed a coming soon Brittany Runs A Marathon in its spot). Put The Goldfinch up in the lobby as a coming soon,

Cleaning lights on for the night?: n/a

Projectors off for the night?: n/a

Projection cart by TH5?: Back in 3/7

To do this evening/ was completed: Scheduled 1/3 - 1/9 in LMS. A few manual starts in there. I scheduled those shows just a minute or two after their real start time to get the content transferred, just FYI. Started building the cue sheets as well. Got the first three days done. SE screenings went smoothly. Projection Admin (and Close) 10/19

To do this evening/ was completed: Real quick - It was a great day! For tonight, I've let MOD know that, since I'm more comfortable staying until most of the last round starts (due to some funky server issues we've been having), I'm going to go see a movie in T2 and can silently text with them if they need anything or should anything go wrong (knocking on wood).  Extremely thrilled to say that all three NewFest shows went very well this morning/afternoon. It was definitely a bit of a magic trick with some overlapping intros/Q&As but having my personal ROS helped so much. Thank you to Desmond, NewFest rockstar.  Desmond and I double checked all shows before doors. Gaffed the wired mics and tested everything. Since one guest for the q&a in T2 wasn't comfortable with the chairs, we swapped our directors chairs for the ones in the bar, which still worked super well with the slides and spots.  Had to ride the mic in trees a bit since everyone's got a differen...

NPP Projection Report 4/6 Open

To do this evening/ was completed: Theater 3 issue happened again, Carly radioed me that the second round preshow didn't start. I was able to restart the projector and put the preshow on about 12 minutes before lights down. Trailers/feature played fine after that. I wrote again to DMS and Jerry said he'll have a list of parts to replace on Monday. For the sake of clarity, here is everything I've gathered about this issue: -When it happens, you won't be able to control playback via the TMS, manually fire automation cues, or access the IMS web GUI at all -Schedules for Theater 3 will display as "KDM missing" and the storage health icon on the Overview page will say "Storage degraded," even though the storage is healthy and KDMs have been uploaded and are active. -This issue prevents the server from validating KDMs (even though they are there and valid), so encrypted content will not play with the server in this state.
