Projection report 8/30 (admin)



Presentation Issues: None

Preshow Clips/Playlist: checked all first run & specialty playlists for the week, everything seems to be good

** scheduled shows for Thursday 9/5. Note that It Chapter 2 seems to be 5 minutes longer than what we have scheduled (this makes for some tight turn arounds).

*** left the Freaks And Geeks feature to send out to projector 1 for this week's event (playlist still needs to be built — waiting on preshow content, see below)

Trailer Updates: checked the new Trailmix for the new Star Wars trailer — it was not on there

Special Events/ AV set up: dual staff screenings of Dirty Dancing and Brittany. All good.

Ordering/Receiving (posters & trailers): Matthew found a whole bunch of brand new Midsommar posters. Most of them went back to 155, but I kept one for possible use now that we're running the film again. (It's the 'misc' portion of the poster box)

Ordering/Receiving (content): downloaded the SE_1999 preshow from EVO. As of this blog it is still downloading to our portable drive. Note: we are still waiting on the Freaks And Geeks-specific preshow for the event on Wednesday.

** We received 2001 and The Last Unicorn. Both are ingesting to TMS. Note: the 2001 drive contained versions of the movie with "original" and "restored" audio. I ingested the restored version (which is what I believe we ran at Williamsburg the last time we played the film). Also note that 2001 is broken into two DCPs.

Outgoing/Shipping (content): carried some outgoing content to the UPS drop

Print/video Inspection:

Asset tracking doc updated/checked?: Checked

Maintenance/cleaning:

Cue sheets updated/checked (every shift): double-checked cue sheets for today and tomorrow — did not spot any problems. Also jumped ahead and updated end times for It 2 on Thursday

Marquee updated?: added Brittany Runs A Marathon and Midsommar to the front side, moved Lion King down a row, and took down the whole bottom row ("Celebrate BK...").

Posters updated?: up to date (if somebody wants to swap out one of our older titles for Midsommar, the poster is in the poster box, rolled inside another poster)

To do this evening/ was completed: Hey all! Well, we're just about there! Barbenheimer starts tomorrow. Alec and I ran the print this morning as a dress rehearsal to check image/sound and to give our lovely staff a first look. The print looks really beautiful and I'm very excited for this run. We'll get our eyes on the DCP tomorrow to compare sound, though we're almost certain the loud, static noises that occur during scenes of explosions or closeups of nuclear particles are intentional.  I want to share with everyone a document I've whipped up called Housekeeping Notes for the Projectionist: Plattering Oppenheimer. NPP Projection 11/17 Close

To do this evening/ was completed:v Mandy ingested to T1. Reached out to Vision for new posters. Was placed on hold, which was more an unending cycle of pressing 1 for hold and then being told to press 0 for voicemail or 1 for hold. Point being I left a voicemail requesting new posters. Gave them our account number, location and my cell. Outgoing marquee letters taken down. 11/10 playlists and forecasts deleted, Chicken Run V2 and Christmas Action trailers downloaded and ingested, 11/24 A1 playlists and packs built. Inspected Raising Cain print. It's in good condition, minimal scratching, no splices. Inspection sheet filled out. Transferred Marvels content to T6, as it was missing from the server due to the 1:20 tomorrow being a manual start.
