Projection Report 10/31 Admin


Presentation Issues: No presentation issues.

Preshow Clips/Playlist: Built the Blue Velvet playlist with preshow and trailers, still waiting on the feature which is arriving tomorrow.

Trailer Updates:

Special Events/ AV set up: Double checked the show playlist for Halloween tonight. It's all set.

Ordering/Receiving (posters & trailers): New Trail Mix drive came in.

Print/video Inspection: Teched Slayer: The Repentless Killogy in Theater 2. The feature has three parts: a ten-minute interview portion, a 40-minute short film, and an hour and a half of concert footage. There are different volume cues for each section. The first two are scope footage in a flat container (letterboxed) but the concert is flat 1.85:1 so we will show it with the normal flat lens file and masking. Updated the event memo with the current timing. The playlist is all good to go unless an intro or Q&A is added.

-Checked the Late Night Lynch preshow for Blue Velvet

Asset tracking doc updated/checked?: Added all upcoming bookings currently on the Deluxe portal. Most importantly added tracking for The Trouble with Harry which is playing brunch next weekend (11/9), it should be here Monday 11/4.

Maintenance/cleaning: Made 1.19 screen files in all houses which had yet to have one (3, 4, 6, and 7). Every house is all set with the Lighthouse playlist now.

-Checked the 1.66 lens and aperture plate on 35mm projector 1 in theater 1 (Marriage Story is 1.66). Looking good but the port window will probably have to be taped. Set the preset on the masking motor as well.

-Ran some scope trailers on the 35mm's in Theater 6. I added notes to the "35mm Projector Vetting" spreadsheet.

-Updated the white board.

-Some LED lights, a shelf, and spotlights came. They are on the bottom of the shelf by the Theater 6 rack.

Cue sheets updated/checked (every shift): Checked over cues and scheduler for today, no problems. Printed three copies.

Marquee updated?: Up to date

Posters updated?: Put a "now showing" snipe above the Halloween poster in the vestibule for tonight. This should be changed to Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood with a "coming soon" snipe at the end of the night.

Every house checked for cues (lighting/masking/lens) & playback on all playlists checked?: Yes and yes

Cleaning lights on for the night?: N/a

Projectors off for the night?: N/a

Projection cart by TH5?: Back in 3/7

To do this evening/ was completed: Scheduled 1/3 - 1/9 in LMS. A few manual starts in there. I scheduled those shows just a minute or two after their real start time to get the content transferred, just FYI. Started building the cue sheets as well. Got the first three days done. Projection Admin (and Close) 10/19

To do this evening/ was completed: Real quick - It was a great day! For tonight, I've let MOD know that, since I'm more comfortable staying until most of the last round starts (due to some funky server issues we've been having), I'm going to go see a movie in T2 and can silently text with them if they need anything or should anything go wrong (knocking on wood).  Extremely thrilled to say that all three NewFest shows went very well this morning/afternoon. It was definitely a bit of a magic trick with some overlapping intros/Q&As but having my personal ROS helped so much. Thank you to Desmond, NewFest rockstar.  Desmond and I double checked all shows before doors. Gaffed the wired mics and tested everything. Since one guest for the q&a in T2 wasn't comfortable with the chairs, we swapped our directors chairs for the ones in the bar, which still worked super well with the slides and spots.  Had to ride the mic in trees a bit since everyone's got a differen...

NPP Projection Report 4/6 Open

To do this evening/ was completed: Theater 3 issue happened again, Carly radioed me that the second round preshow didn't start. I was able to restart the projector and put the preshow on about 12 minutes before lights down. Trailers/feature played fine after that. I wrote again to DMS and Jerry said he'll have a list of parts to replace on Monday. For the sake of clarity, here is everything I've gathered about this issue: -When it happens, you won't be able to control playback via the TMS, manually fire automation cues, or access the IMS web GUI at all -Schedules for Theater 3 will display as "KDM missing" and the storage health icon on the Overview page will say "Storage degraded," even though the storage is healthy and KDMs have been uploaded and are active. -This issue prevents the server from validating KDMs (even though they are there and valid), so encrypted content will not play with the server in this state.
