Projection Report 10/9 Open/Event


Presentation Issues: None. I bumped the volume for the all ages Downton to the regular level since there were no babies at the screening.

Preshow Clips/Playlist: Ingested Gemini Man preshow clips and the new October forecast card. Teched the preshow in Theater 1 since it was such a hassle to get, it's all set for the first screening tomorrow.

-Built the Addams Family playlist.

-Built new playlists for all of next week's first run movies. For tomorrow's schedule I put this week's playlist (100419) of Abominable (includes Addams Family trailer) and next week's playlist (101119) for everything else (Gemini Man trailer removed). Note: the updated playlists for Ad Astra and Where's My Roy Cohn? are labelled "101019" and can be deleted after tomorrow.

-Built the schedule for Friday-Sunday.

Trailer Updates: Built the new trailer packs for this week.

Special Events/ AV set up: Over the Edge 35mm with intro & Q&A in Theater 1. The show had to be interrupted when the take-up belt on projector #1 broke again during the third reel. This time Daniel and I did not catch it (as it does not really make a sound when it breaks) until a lot of film had spooled out onto the floor. We stopped the show and I wound all the film back onto the takeup reel by hand. After that we re-started the show with me winding the takeup reel by hand. I tried fixing the belt while reel 4 was running on the other projector, but I had to come into 4/6 and take a belt from projector #1 in Theater 6 because the one that broke could not be re-used and I was unable to fix it in time. So for reel 5 I wound the takeup by hand for the whole thing. After the show I put the belt in the projector and ran the motor to test it. So the takeup on that projector works again but we are down a takeup belt for the projector #1 in Theater 6. On a different note, Daniel did a great job with this show. He pretty much ran it himself, threading most reels and doing the changeovers. There were some weird cues on this print but other than that he ran the show very smoothly!

Ordering/Receiving (posters & trailers): Jojo Rabbit posters came.

Ordering/Receiving (content): The Addams Family drive came. The feature has been ingested to TMS. (A note for ingesting features: when we initially ingest them we do have to ingest both the 5.1 and 7.1 audio versions, as the 7.1 is just a supplemental package to the 5.1. TMS does duplicate the whole feature CPL so there are independent 5.1 and 7.1 files, so we should be able to delete the 5.1 version after both are ingested to save space.)

To do this evening/ was completed: Hey all! Well, we're just about there! Barbenheimer starts tomorrow. Alec and I ran the print this morning as a dress rehearsal to check image/sound and to give our lovely staff a first look. The print looks really beautiful and I'm very excited for this run. NPP Projection 11/17 Close

To do this evening/ was completed:v Mandy ingested to T1. Reached out to Vision for new posters. Was placed on hold, which was more an unending cycle of pressing 1 for hold and then being told to press 0 for voicemail or 1 for hold. Point being I left a voicemail requesting new posters. Gave them our account number, location and my cell. Outgoing marquee letters taken down. 11/10 playlists and forecasts deleted, Chicken Run V2 and Christmas Action trailers downloaded and ingested, 11/24 A1 playlists and packs built. Inspected Raising Cain print. It's in good condition, minimal scratching, no splices. Inspection sheet filled out. Transferred Marvels content to T6, as it was missing from the server due to the 1:20 tomorrow being a manual start.
