NPP Projection Report 11/22 Admin, Alec


Presentation Issues: No issues.

Preshow Clips/Playlist: We are now scheduling a "first round bumper" which a four-minute playlist scheduled 5 minutes before the first show of the day in each theater. Since we are scheduling a separate playlist, there is about 45 seconds with nothing on screen as the server switches the playlists. We are trying to figure out a more seamless way of executing this, but this is how it will be for now, just in case there are any questions.

Trailer Updates:

Special Events/ AV set up: Went through the NSF Vimeo playlist with the mic setup in Theater 3. Should be all set for tomorrow. I wasn't able to fully resolve the masking issue, however. My first instinct was to get the ladder and move the masking by hand and reset the pre-sets (which was probably wrong). I spent a while playing with it but no matter what I did I either could not get it to come in all the way to 1.33 with the motor or it would not open enough for even 1.85 with the motor. When I tried pressing #4 the curtain started coming off of the tracking and I had to fix it. As it is now, the 1.85 and scope presets are working, with the third preset as far in as I could get it with the motor (not quite 1.33 but a little past 1.66). By the time I had the curtain all back up and the main two presets correct the theater was about to open. I think I can figure this out once and for all during my next admin.

Ordering/Receiving (posters & trailers): Ordered posters for Little Women.

Ordering/Receiving (content): Drives for Queen & Slim, Christmas Vacation, and Krisha arrived. I have NOT ingested these as we are being more conscientious about using up space on the server. I tested all the drives in the drive bay and they all mounted properly.

-Since it's no longer the protocol to ingest features as soon as we receive them, I labelled each drive with the date it should be ingested on or if it is already on the TMS.

To do this evening/ was completed: Scheduled 1/3 - 1/9 in LMS. A few manual starts in there. I scheduled those shows just a minute or two after their real start time to get the content transferred, just FYI. Started building the cue sheets as well. Got the first three days done. Projection Admin (and Close) 10/19

To do this evening/ was completed: Real quick - It was a great day! For tonight, I've let MOD know that, since I'm more comfortable staying until most of the last round starts (due to some funky server issues we've been having), I'm going to go see a movie in T2 and can silently text with them if they need anything or should anything go wrong (knocking on wood).  Extremely thrilled to say that all three NewFest shows went very well this morning/afternoon. It was definitely a bit of a magic trick with some overlapping intros/Q&As but having my personal ROS helped so much. Thank you to Desmond, NewFest rockstar.  Desmond and I double checked all shows before doors. Gaffed the wired mics and tested everything. Since one guest for the q&a in T2 wasn't comfortable with the chairs, we swapped our directors chairs for the ones in the bar, which still worked super well with the slides and spots.  Had to ride the mic in trees a bit since everyone's got a differen...

NPP Projection Report 4/6 Open

To do this evening/ was completed: Theater 3 issue happened again, Carly radioed me that the second round preshow didn't start. I was able to restart the projector and put the preshow on about 12 minutes before lights down. Trailers/feature played fine after that. I wrote again to DMS and Jerry said he'll have a list of parts to replace on Monday. For the sake of clarity, here is everything I've gathered about this issue: -When it happens, you won't be able to control playback via the TMS, manually fire automation cues, or access the IMS web GUI at all -Schedules for Theater 3 will display as "KDM missing" and the storage health icon on the Overview page will say "Storage degraded," even though the storage is healthy and KDMs have been uploaded and are active. -This issue prevents the server from validating KDMs (even though they are there and valid), so encrypted content will not play with the server in this state.
