NPP Projection Report 11/26/19 - Close - Dylan



Presentation Issues: The side wall lighting in theater 2 does not seem to be coming up during the lights mid cue. Not sure if this is related to the DMS work that happened today. Not a huge problem, but something to look at.

** there was also an issue with an assisted listening device requested by a customer. It was not picking up the signal for Parasite in theater 7. Michael and I tried a couple different strategies and were eventually able to pick up the signal on Channel 2a (not 1a or 1b, which is what is labeled on the Fidelio). Something to know for the future.

*** also, in the last round in theater 3 (Parasite again) the processor seemed to randomly mute itself about an hour in. I was standing in booth 3/7 at the time and did not touch anything on the rack, and nothing unusual was happening on the scheduler. Fortunately I was able to unmute the film in about 30 seconds. Bizarre.

Preshow Clips/Playlist: Added The Lighthouse to the scheduler for the last round in theater 6 for tomorrow and Thurs (see Matthew's email). All content should be ready for these shows.

** scheduled tomorrow's Queen and Knives shows in theater 2. Feature content is still sending out as of this blog post — I have left the projector on overnight to let these transfers go through for tomorrow.

*** added feature file to the Christmas Vacation playlist (and added volume and lights up cues)

**** (make sure to add the Queen & Slim preshow files to the playlist after you can tech them...)

Trailer Updates:

Special Events/ AV set up: Krisha in theater 3. No special guest, all DCP all automated. No issues (though, the volume setting I had put in yesterday was a little too quiet in that theater — I pushed it up a half point). Feature has been deleted from the projector and TMS.

Ordering/Receiving (posters & trailers):

Ordering/Receiving (content): ingested the Queen & Slim preshow content to TMS and sent it out to relevant projectors

Outgoing/Shipping (content):

Print/video Inspection: I did not have time to QC the Queen preshow — files have been sent to all necessary screens, and I built a "QueenPS_Test" playlist with the three files on it that can be teched in the AM.

Asset tracking doc updated/checked?: Checked/updated

Maintenance/cleaning:

Cue sheets updated/checked (every shift): Updated the Weds/Thurs cue sheets re: Lighthouse (see above). Also double-checked tomorrow's cue sheet and scheduler against the updated one Matthew sent out — did not spot any problems.

Marquee updated?: Big marquee night. Took everything down from the north side, put up Christmas Vacation and Celebration. On the front side, took down Irishman and Marriage story, and put up Queen & Slim and Knives Out.

Posters updated?: took down Irishman and Marriage Story, moved Queen & Slim and Knives to the full 'now playing' side, and put up Jumanji and Little Women as our new coming soon posters

Cleaning lights on for the night?: yes

Projectors off for the night?: yes

Projection cart by TH5?: yes

To do this evening/ was completed:v Mandy ingested to T1. Reached out to Vision for new posters. Was placed on hold, which was more an unending cycle of pressing 1 for hold and then being told to press 0 for voicemail or 1 for hold. Point being I left a voicemail requesting new posters. Gave them our account number, location and my cell. Outgoing marquee letters taken down. 11/10 playlists and forecasts deleted, Chicken Run V2 and Christmas Action trailers downloaded and ingested, 11/24 A1 playlists and packs built. Inspected Raising Cain print. It's in good condition, minimal scratching, no splices. Inspection sheet filled out. Transferred Marvels content to T6, as it was missing from the server due to the 1:20 tomorrow being a manual start. NPP Projection Report 4/6 Open

To do this evening/ was completed: Theater 3 issue happened again, Carly radioed me that the second round preshow didn't start. I was able to restart the projector and put the preshow on about 12 minutes before lights down. Trailers/feature played fine after that. I wrote again to DMS and Jerry said he'll have a list of parts to replace on Monday. For the sake of clarity, here is everything I've gathered about this issue: -When it happens, you won't be able to control playback via the TMS, manually fire automation cues, or access the IMS web GUI at all -Schedules for Theater 3 will display as "KDM missing" and the storage health icon on the Overview page will say "Storage degraded," even though the storage is healthy and KDMs have been uploaded and are active. -This issue prevents the server from validating KDMs (even though they are there and valid), so encrypted content will not play with the server in this state. To do this evening/ was completed: Hey all. Thanks for the Christmas coverage and for quickly hopping on board to accompany Alec while he's out for a little while - I really appreciate it. We've just about got our schedule sorted, so please remember to take a look to see the changes made.  Presentation Issues: Preshow Clips/Playlist: Double checked that T6 and T6 specific playlists are all set.  Tomorrow! Please get your eyes on When Harry Met Sally just to check sound/image and credits info. Screens this Saturday/Sunday but the keys open up tomorrow. I adjusted the playlist based on the ingest letter (and looked it up online, but the offset is a little different, so you'll want to make sure!) Thanks!
