Projection Report 11/4 Admin

Presentation Issues: There were no presentation issues.

Preshow Clips/Playlist: I teched all the Marriage Story pre-shows and the NPP horror trailer for Nightmare on Elm Street. All looked good. Dylan and I were discussing if there would be a difference between the Marriage Story DCP playlist and the 35mm playlist other than an added black slug to shutter the Christie, bring in the masking, and switch the sound processor, etc. Will we have the DCP running (shuttered) behind the 35?

Trailer Updates:

Special Events/ AV set up:

Ordering/Receiving (posters & trailers):

Ordering/Receiving (content): The Trouble with Harry DCP came in and has been ingested. The keys for the DCP of Marriage Story came in and have been ingested, they go live tomorrow morning so we can tech the film tomorrow after Netflix leaves.

Outgoing/Shipping (content): Dylan walked the DCP's to drop-off. We are hanging onto to Annie for a little while because I want to do a staff screening (the keys are good until February) so please don't send that one back yet!

Print/video Inspection: I ran Marriage Story on 35mm today and discovered that the 1.66 lens created masking problems that we could not overcome, there were black bars on the top and bottom and both sides, with some bad keystoning on the top and right edge of the image. I tried manually moving the lens to fill the screen better, but it made it impossible to focus the image. I conferred with Alec over the phone and we both agreed that the only solution was to go with the 1.85 lens with the masking set to 1.66 to mask the keystoning. I also needed to file the 1.85 masking plate down a bit. The port window has been taped as well. Image-wise, we are ready for presentation. The volume is good at 6.5.
We will run the print 100% manually for the Netflix people tomorrow morning and then build the automation foil cues and tech our programming.
I will grab exact credit timing tomorrow during the Netflix presentation and update the cue sheets. I was more concerned with image playback and finding ideal placement for foil cues during today's run.
I am also planning on running a staff screening on Wednesday at 12:45. Dylan has expressed a desire to come in to run the staff screening.

Additional Notes: Erin came in for some platter practice today. I made her a small practice reel with some platter leader to run several times. Also, it was nice to have another set of eyes inside the theater close to the screen while I was in the booth trying to get the plates and port window perfect.
