NPP Projection Blog 12/26 CLOSE, Karen
Presentation Issues:
During the dinner round in TH3, "Bombshell" lost sound about 50 minutes into the feature. A quick glance at the rack in booth 3/7 showed that all components were working fine. I radioed for the MOD to stay in the theater. I stopped the show, shuttered the projector, and brought the house lights up. I then proceeded to mute the processor and cycle power on the amplifiers, unmuted the processor and restarted the feature briefly. Once the MOD confirmed that sound was back, I backed up the playlist by 7 minutes and restarted it. The whole fix took about 1-2 minutes.
Preshow Clips/Playlist:
Made the 35mm playlist of Little Women to run behind the print.

Print/video Inspection:
Teched Little Women this morning before we opened for masking, focus, and foil cue testing. The print looks beautiful. Let's keep it that way!
Ran it again at midnight as a full dress rehearsal after the last Star Wars showing with the digital playlist behind it and all applicable cues. The credits are static white letters against a black background which is the best possible way to examine the shutter timing. I thought I saw a bit of ghosting. After the print ran through, I set the intermittent such that I could look inside at the shutter position and indeed, the timing is slightly off. It isn't noticeable during the film itself so much. I will adjust this tomorrow evening after the dinner round screening.
