Presentation Issues (from last night):
-I have tried to solve the automated Scope masking issues in TH 1 & 2. I tried every permutation that I can think of. I have started the playlist manually with the TMS, manually with the IMS, and automated by scheduling it to start, always making sure that the masking was starting from Flat, and I cannot re-create the problem. I have let the cues fire through the Show Start at the beginning of the pre show, I let the cues fire through into the start of the trailer pack and then again coming out of the trailer pack into the feature (even though going into and out of the trailers only involves a lens change cue and not a masking cue, I still wanted to run the points were any macro execute cue was running). All of the automation worked fine for me, just as it did when I was testing automation after I fixed the automation cues from DMS's work.

- Here are the variables that I have noticed during my deep dive into this in the case that it rings a bell in someone else's mind as to what could be happening...

  • when we decided to change masking at the beginning of the pre show, I went in and deleted a redundant call of masking right within the Scope lens/masking change playlist pack. This pack used to come right before a Scope feature, but now it is being used within the light down trailer pack. This was before DMS came in.
  • I made this change in the TMS, however, all of the shows were already scheduled for the week (and therefore ingested into the local servers) Normally, we can make changes in the TMS to playlists that have already been scheduled and it updates fine. However, I noticed the "redundant" masking cue still in the StarWars trailer pack on the IMS, meaning the pack differentiated from the same pack on the TMS. Maybe this is only a problem if then the cues involved are reprogrammed in the IMS? I don't know.
  • We have not been having any problems in TH 4 & 6 (where DMS also made changes). The only difference I see between these theaters and 1 & 2 is we never had an instance where we went from a flat movie to a scope all week long in those theaters, it was always the other way around going from Star Wars to Little Women and never back to Scope after.
  • What I have done is went ahead and deleted all StarWars_122519 playlists from the scheduler today and replaced them with StarWars_010320 playlists (which were made and ingested yesterday, after all the masking cues were updated) So if this solves it, I suppose that the best practice in the future is to delete and reschedule all shows in the TMS scheduler for houses where a major change was made to the programming of the IMS mid-week

Preshow Clips/Playlist:
-Running the 010320 Star Wars playlists a day early to try and "fix" the masking automation issues.
