2/21 Admin/Open, Alec

To do this evening/ was completed:

I did not get a chance to test the preshow at 3.2 further. Please set this level manually for some busier shows, especially in the bigger theaters, and listen to see if it is suitable.

If you happen to do any threading practice, please don't use Freeway as this print does not belong to us.

Presentation Issues: None.

Preshow Clips/Playlist:

Trailer Updates:

Special Events/ AV set up: Moonstruck film feast test screening in T3. We used the blu-ray and Michael got this started, we'll have a DCP by the time of the actual event, which is not yet on the calendar.

Ordering/Receiving (posters & trailers):

Ordering/Receiving (content): Ingested The Hunger and added the feature to the playlist. Keys go live on Sunday morning, I sent the feature to TH6 to tech at close. Some content can come off TH1 server on Sunday night so I will schedule the playlist in TH1 after that.

Outgoing/Shipping (content): Knives Out, Color Out of Space, and Parasite B&W are gone from all servers.

Print/video Inspection:

Maintenance/cleaning: Ran the two reels of Freeway we got from Williamsburg in both TH4 and TH1. This print is not scope nor does it have a digital soundtrack but it was still useful for checking changeovers, analog sound to the theater, and generally confirming what I observed about the lenses and plates from running the test loop. Everything 1.85 seems to be in working order in TH1 and the changeover is good, analog sounded great from both projectors. I still prefer to use the masking FLAT 1.85 macro as opposed to the masking FILM 1.85. I also did a "changeover" between two scope trailer reels in TH1. That scope lens on P2 is really not great. It looks like there is a crack somewhere, but it is beneath the surfaces I can access by just taking it apart by hand. Also there's a lot of dust in there, as Michael noted. I moved the lens in the collar which fixed some of the issues with aligning the image to the screen, but did not really help with getting an even focus. One of these trailer reels did have a digital soundtrack, so I confirmed that digital sounds great from P1 as well.

In TH4, I basically confirmed everything I noticed from using the test loop, however I did notice that when changing over to P2, the sound will not change over if the motor on P1 is still running. I tried it the other way and there was no problem switching sound from P2 to P1, motor on or off. This will need to be addressed before any reel-to-reel shows. Otherwise, analog on both sounded great going into the theater and, despite the plate needing to be filed on P2, the film looked good. I really would love to have a light meter though so we can balance the levels on both projectors. Also there is still some shutter ghosting on P1, though it is much less severe than before. Did Steve do something? If he did, I suspect it's the worn down gear causing the problem. There is the same issue on P2, and it is far more noticeable. Karen, would you like to try re-timing it on our next double admin?

Made tiny ILS adjustments in 5 and 1, probably due to personal preference and not any misalignment. Added them to the doc.

Changed an overhead bulb in T3
