NPP Projection Report 9/8


To do this evening/ was completed: Dolby CaptiView in Theater 2 is working again. I didn't realize this but the CaptiView devices connect to a USB plugin (looks like a flash drive) that plugs into the side of the projector. We used to have trouble getting them to connect from inside Theater 2 (we would have to take them up to the booth to get them to connect), so someone (guessing Michael back before we closed) used a USB cable to extend the plugin through an opening by the port glass into the theater. Long story short, the cable got disconnected from the projector, but I plugged it back. Be careful since the cable doesn't have much slack and can easily come unplugged (its the only USB plugged into the side of the projector), if CaptiView stops working in Theater 2 check this first.

Presentation Issues:

Preshow Clips/Playlist: Built/scheduled staff screening playlists for The Card Counter and Prisoners of the Ghostland.

Trailer Updates:

Special Events/ AV set up: Still waiting on a slideshow and house music playlist from the hosts of the event tomorrow. I'll keep an eye on my email and share any content that needs to be saved.

Ordering/Receiving (posters & trailers): Called Vision Media to see if they have posters for Prisoners of the Ghostland and Language Lessons, they said we have one sheets for Prisoners incoming and that they do not handle Language Lessons. Language Lessons posters aren't available through IMoxie either, I'll see if DCU can help once they get me the tracking.

Ordering/Receiving (content): Fellowship of the Ring DCP drive should be coming from UPS this evening. Let's hold off on ingesting until we can delete the first run features that close on Friday, it's a big file and the TMS is getting pretty full.

Language Lessons is coming from Digital Cinema United. Apparently they only received this DCP last night so they are shipping our drive overnight today. I'm supposed to be getting tracking at some point but as of now I still haven't received it from my contact at DCU. I'll add it to the Asset Tracking doc once it comes through.

Outgoing/Shipping (content): There are four drives on the shelf ready to be returned, try and hand them off to UPS when they deliver the Fellowship drive.

Print/video Inspection: Teched the Prisoners of the Ghostland playlist and added lighting cues for the credits. It's all set.

Ingested keys for The Card Counter, which activate at midnight tonight.

I tested the 1.66 Lens/Masking change in the houses where Card Counter will be playing. Other than a screen file and masking adjustment I made in Theater 2, they were already good to go.

Built and teched a playlist for the private event in Theater 1 tomorrow. It's all set.

To do this evening/ was completed: Scheduled 1/3 - 1/9 in LMS. A few manual starts in there. I scheduled those shows just a minute or two after their real start time to get the content transferred, just FYI. Started building the cue sheets as well. Got the first three days done. Projection Admin (and Close) 10/19

To do this evening/ was completed: Real quick - It was a great day! For tonight, I've let MOD know that, since I'm more comfortable staying until most of the last round starts (due to some funky server issues we've been having), I'm going to go see a movie in T2 and can silently text with them if they need anything or should anything go wrong (knocking on wood).  Extremely thrilled to say that all three NewFest shows went very well this morning/afternoon. It was definitely a bit of a magic trick with some overlapping intros/Q&As but having my personal ROS helped so much. Thank you to Desmond, NewFest rockstar.  Desmond and I double checked all shows before doors. Gaffed the wired mics and tested everything. Since one guest for the q&a in T2 wasn't comfortable with the chairs, we swapped our directors chairs for the ones in the bar, which still worked super well with the slides and spots.  Had to ride the mic in trees a bit since everyone's got a differen...

NPP Projection Report 4/6 Open

To do this evening/ was completed: Theater 3 issue happened again, Carly radioed me that the second round preshow didn't start. I was able to restart the projector and put the preshow on about 12 minutes before lights down. Trailers/feature played fine after that. I wrote again to DMS and Jerry said he'll have a list of parts to replace on Monday. For the sake of clarity, here is everything I've gathered about this issue: -When it happens, you won't be able to control playback via the TMS, manually fire automation cues, or access the IMS web GUI at all -Schedules for Theater 3 will display as "KDM missing" and the storage health icon on the Overview page will say "Storage degraded," even though the storage is healthy and KDMs have been uploaded and are active. -This issue prevents the server from validating KDMs (even though they are there and valid), so encrypted content will not play with the server in this state.
