NPP Projection Report 10/26 Close
To do this evening/ was completed:
Presentation Issues: The screening of Gothika was interrupted due to a projector issue detailed below.
Preshow Clips/Playlist: Built and scheduled the Velvet Underground playlist.
Built and scheduled playlists for Fear and The Ring preshow, and full event playlists for My Name is Pauli Murray, Night of the Living Dead, and The Addams Family.
Scheduling for the week is done, only missing the Dogtown & Z-Boys event, Eternals, and Spencer.
Trailer Updates: Added a trailer for the Foxy Brown event to the 102821 Adult pack in place of House of Gucci.
Special Events/ AV set up: Gothika 35mm screening with intro in Theater 6. Intro went well, screening was unfortunately interrupted when the take-up belt broke on projector #2 leading film to start falling on the floor. I was threading when this happened and Jack alerted me when he noticed, which I would say was about minute after it broke, and enough film had collected on the floor that I couldn’t wind it up fast enough to start turning the take up reel by hand. The film ended up getting twisted so I had to remove it from the projector, wind most of the film back onto the feed reel, and take it over to the rewind table to get the twists out. The film was not damaged, however. Since I had to wind some back onto the take-up reel, when I started the film again it was rewound slightly from the point at which it was stopped, so part of it was played again. I don’t know exactly how much but it couldn’t have been much more than a minute or two. I will be able to fix this before the screening of Fear tomorrow night.

Ordering/Receiving (posters & trailers): Received posters for Velvet Underground. Left them in the caddy in 3/7, we can just swap it with Venom 2 when that closes.
Ordering/Receiving (content): Received and ingested the DCP of The Velvet Underground from Eclair.
Ingested The Muppet Movie to Theater 1.
Cue sheets updated/checked (every shift): Cues for 10/29-11/4 are done, just missing some event timing and the titles opening early on Thursday.

Keys for Last Night in Soho will be arriving tonight at midnight, they open 10/28 at midnight, so the feature can be teched on Thursday.

Maintenance/cleaning: I did notice a few more things about the 1.85 lens and plate with the 35mm projectors in Theater 6. It seems as though the 1.85 plate for projector #1 needs to be filed, and the image from projector #2 is shifted down very slightly, as though the projector needs to be tilted down to a slightly lesser angle, which seems possible from the look of it but I don’t see any mechanism for changing the angle. I’ll ask DMS about this when they come back to continue working in Theater 4. I’d file the plate myself but they’ve asked us not to do this in the past.
