NPP Projection Report 11/18 Admin/Open


To do this evening/ was completed: When the Vast of Night DCP finishes downloading (ETA around 5:30pm), transfer it to the DCPII drive and plug that into the Theater 4 projector and ingest the DCP directly to the IMS server. Once the ingest is complete switch the features in the playlist and save it. If you update the playlist before preshow starts at 9:20 and have a chance to look at the DCP, delete the DCP I made from the server.

The House of Gucci drive should be delivered by UPS tonight by 9pm. Please ingest it to the TMS, then add the feature to the playlist and schedule it. (To avoid possibly slowing down the ingest to Theater 4, wait until The Vast of Night finishes ingesting to ingest House of Gucci. I don’t really think it would make much of a difference since they’re loading to completely different servers but I’d rather not risk it.)

The Foxy Brown print is in 3/7 with a UPS return label attached, if you catch UPS please hand this off to them.

A Sony courier should be coming to pick up the Never Talk to Strangers print.

Schedule Wednesday 11/24 and Thursday 11/25 and update the cue sheets. (Make sure to use playlists marked 112321 where available).

Presentation Issues:

Preshow Clips/Playlist: Built and scheduled the Vast of Night and C'mon C'mon playlists. Built a House of Gucci playlist without the feature.

Scheduled Tuesday 11/23 and updated cue sheets.

Conrad mentioned he’s clearing off the Dropbox and to download any preshow content we want before it goes. There are a few preshows and transitionals I’m going to download but not yet as we need the drive free for The Vast of Night. I told Conrad not to delete them yet and I’ll download everything I need tomorrow.

Trailer Updates: Built first run show playlists with new trailers for Tuesday.

Special Events/ AV set up: Private event in Theater 4 tonight. Just preshow and the screening, nothing extra. It’s scheduled, the only thing that may need to be done is extending the preshow if Chenelle asks. Just an FYI it’s a low quality file, the hosts are aware of this.

Ordering/Receiving (posters & trailers): 

Ordering/Receiving (content): Lots of drama with the Vast of Night DCP... this morning the delivery estimate was changed to tomorrow 11/19, so I got a digital copy of the film and made a DCP of it which is passable, but not great. I had to use a smaller file so the conversion would finish with enough time to load and tech the DCP. We eventually got a download link of the DCP at around 2:30pm and I immediately started the download. I think there’s a good chance we’ll have this ingested to Theater 4 for the 9:45 showtime tonight. If for some reason this can't happen we'll have to just roll with the one I made.

C'mon C'mon DCP was delivered to our Eclair server, it's been ingested.

John brought by blu-rays of Serendipity and Bridget Jones’s Diary. I think I’m supposed to make DCPs of these but our computer doesn’t have a disc drive. I’ll see if Desmond can share files of these and I’ll convert those and keep the blu-rays as backups (in which case I’ll coordinate the return of the Bridget Jones blu-ray to Williamsburg).

The DCP of Once Upon a Time in China is being delivered digitally tomorrow.

Outgoing/Shipping (content): FedEx picked up the Ring and Fear prints.

Packed up the Foxy Brown and Never Talk to Strangers prints for return.

Print/video Inspection: Teched the print of Tenet in Theater 1. It looks and sounds great! There are a few minor things with the scope plates which I’ll take care of before the screening.

Inspected the American Astronaut print, it's in good condition. I had to repair a few torn sprockets but otherwise it came ready to project.

Looked at my DCP of The Vast of Night, it's OK but not perfect. Hopefully we will be able to ingest the actual DCP and we won't have to use it.

Asset tracking doc updated/checked?: Yes.

Maintenance/cleaning: Jerry from DMS came today and fixed the ILS in Theater 2 and installed a new dimmer control board in Theater 7.

To do this evening/ was completed:v Mandy ingested to T1. Reached out to Vision for new posters. Was placed on hold, which was more an unending cycle of pressing 1 for hold and then being told to press 0 for voicemail or 1 for hold. Point being I left a voicemail requesting new posters. Gave them our account number, location and my cell. Outgoing marquee letters taken down. 11/10 playlists and forecasts deleted, Chicken Run V2 and Christmas Action trailers downloaded and ingested, 11/24 A1 playlists and packs built. Inspected Raising Cain print. It's in good condition, minimal scratching, no splices. Inspection sheet filled out. NPP Projection Report 4/6 Open

To do this evening/ was completed: Theater 3 issue happened again, Carly radioed me that the second round preshow didn't start. I was able to restart the projector and put the preshow on about 12 minutes before lights down. Trailers/feature played fine after that. I wrote again to DMS and Jerry said he'll have a list of parts to replace on Monday. For the sake of clarity, here is everything I've gathered about this issue: -When it happens, you won't be able to control playback via the TMS, manually fire automation cues, or access the IMS web GUI at all -Schedules for Theater 3 will display as "KDM missing" and the storage health icon on the Overview page will say "Storage degraded," even though the storage is healthy and KDMs have been uploaded and are active. -This issue prevents the server from validating KDMs (even though they are there and valid), so encrypted content will not play with the server in this state. To do this evening/ was completed: Hey all. Thanks for the Christmas coverage and for quickly hopping on board to accompany Alec while he's out for a little while - I really appreciate it. We've just about got our schedule sorted, so please remember to take a look to see the changes made.  Presentation Issues: Preshow Clips/Playlist: Double checked that T6 and T6 specific playlists are all set.  Tomorrow! Please get your eyes on When Harry Met Sally just to check sound/image and credits info. Screens this Saturday/Sunday but the keys open up tomorrow. I adjusted the playlist based on the ingest letter (and looked it up online, but the offset is a little different, so you'll want to make sure!) Thanks!
