NPP Projection Report 11/24 Admin
To do this evening/ was completed:
Presentation Issues: While trying to check The White Goddess in theater 3 this morning, I noticed that the server was offline despite the TMS displaying the content on the scheduling window. The projector itself was on but, for whatever reason, was not communicating with the server. I could not load any content to test so I tried shutting off the projector from the touch panel to see if powering down might establish the connection again. This did not work so I restarted the IMS, then hard rebooted the projector, all to no avail. I tried remarrying the projector and server through the touch panel but these were already linked and the connection was running fine according to the systems diagnostics. As a last resort, I ended up calling DMS and spoke to a representative named Chris; he and I were on the phone for about two hours using TeamViewer to troubleshoot the issue together. He ran several diagnostics checks, tried restarting the IMS remotely, tried remarrying the projector/server, then had me use a spare ethernet cable to connect the two machines but all of these fixes failed. Finally, after having reinstalled just about everything in the projector (according to Chris the install directory was the thing that had been corrupted and he had to override the security manager in order to make changes to it) the connection went back online. Chris also noted that this projector is the only one in the building running on the newest version of the IMS - at one point he tried re-installing the old version our other machines are running on but could not gain access to it since Dolby only gives keys out to the newest versions. Alec mentioned having experienced a similar issue with the projector/server in theater 1 some months ago, so this is definitely something we can keep a close eye on moving forward.

Ordering/Receiving (posters & trailers): Called VisionMedia and placed an order for new posters for Nightmare Alley and West Side Story
Ordering/Receiving (content): Ingested new keys for Belfast
Outgoing/Shipping (content): Brought down the Tenet print from booth 1 and placed it on the cart behind theater 7; FedEx picked it up this afternoon
Print/video Inspection: Checked both The White Goddess blu-rays in theater 3 and noted all technical information in the asset log (tried playing it in the blu-ray scope macro but this left black bars on all sides of the image despite also adjusting the masking to fit; the blu-ray flat macro is letterboxed but looks best)
Asset tracking doc updated/checked?: Yes

Cue sheets updated/checked (every shift):
Marquee updated?: Removed Tenet from the 14th street side and replaced it with The Secret Life of Plants and its corresponding dates (used a hyphen to separate the numbers as we are currently using all of our ampersands)
