NPP Projection Report 11/5 Admin/Open


To do this evening/ was completed: Keep downloading the files from the After Hours Google Drive folder.

Disconnect the Planes, Trains, and Automobiles drive from the Theater 1 projector when the ingest is done.

Presentation Issues:

Preshow Clips/Playlist: Built and scheduled the Da 5 Bloods playlist.

It seems a few of the playlist packs we use at the beginnings and ends of our show playlists disappeared off the Theater 6 server last night. I deleted and re-ingested the Eternals SPL and this reloaded the packs, after which point I skipped through two first run show playlists and everything was normal. I wrote to DMS about this and a similar thing which happened in Theater 4 several months ago, I sent them the interrogator logs for both projectors and I'm waiting to hear back.

Trailer Updates:

Special Events/ AV set up: I reconnected Plex in Trees Lounge and left the Apple TV remote out so the bartenders can play with it and pick what they want to have on.

Ordering/Receiving (posters & trailers): Received a new Trail Mix drive, as well as a flash drive with a trailer for something called Holiday Chance.

Ordering/Receiving (content): Received drives for both Da 5 Bloods and Planes, Trains, and Automobiles. Ingested 5 Bloods to Theater 3 and Planes to Theater 1.

Outgoing/Shipping (content):

Print/video Inspection:

Asset tracking doc updated/checked?: Added tracking for Josie & the Pussycats and Ponyo drives. Josie should be here Monday 11/8 and Ponyo should be coming the next day, 11/9.

Maintenance/cleaning: I untangled the XLR cable from the masking motor in Theater 1. This must have gotten tangled after I pulled it out to show Jack the connection from the spotlight control board to the wall, as it was clear of the masking motor before then.

I took a shelf from by the MOD office and put it in Theater 1's booth. It's against the wall just opposite the stairs as you're walking in. It has a toolkit, some extra containers of alcohol wipes, and spare light bulbs for the theater on it.

To do this evening/ was completed: Scheduled 1/3 - 1/9 in LMS. A few manual starts in there. I scheduled those shows just a minute or two after their real start time to get the content transferred, just FYI. Started building the cue sheets as well. Got the first three days done. Projection Admin (and Close) 10/19

To do this evening/ was completed: Real quick - It was a great day! For tonight, I've let MOD know that, since I'm more comfortable staying until most of the last round starts (due to some funky server issues we've been having), I'm going to go see a movie in T2 and can silently text with them if they need anything or should anything go wrong (knocking on wood).  Extremely thrilled to say that all three NewFest shows went very well this morning/afternoon. It was definitely a bit of a magic trick with some overlapping intros/Q&As but having my personal ROS helped so much. Thank you to Desmond, NewFest rockstar.  Desmond and I double checked all shows before doors. Gaffed the wired mics and tested everything. Since one guest for the q&a in T2 wasn't comfortable with the chairs, we swapped our directors chairs for the ones in the bar, which still worked super well with the slides and spots.  Had to ride the mic in trees a bit since everyone's got a differen...

NPP Projection Report 4/6 Open

To do this evening/ was completed: Theater 3 issue happened again, Carly radioed me that the second round preshow didn't start. I was able to restart the projector and put the preshow on about 12 minutes before lights down. Trailers/feature played fine after that. I wrote again to DMS and Jerry said he'll have a list of parts to replace on Monday. For the sake of clarity, here is everything I've gathered about this issue: -When it happens, you won't be able to control playback via the TMS, manually fire automation cues, or access the IMS web GUI at all -Schedules for Theater 3 will display as "KDM missing" and the storage health icon on the Overview page will say "Storage degraded," even though the storage is healthy and KDMs have been uploaded and are active. -This issue prevents the server from validating KDMs (even though they are there and valid), so encrypted content will not play with the server in this state.
