Update NPP Projection Report 12/2 Admin

To do this evening/ was completed:

Presentation Issues: Resolved the flickering lamp in theater 2 and (I'm pretty sure) the jittery 35mm projector in theater 1; see the Maintenance/cleaning section below.

Preshow Clips/Playlist: Built new playlists for French DispatchDune, and Eternals without the West Side Story trailer and scheduled them for 12/9.

Trailer Updates:

Special Events/ AV set up: Forgot to add this earlier, but Spoons is set up in Theater 1 for the night. Make sure the two power strips are turned on under the screen, the one on the left side for the wall speakers and the one on the right for the HDMI converter and spotlight control board; also the power strip on the wall toward the back of the theater for the moving spots. I left 3 mic stands by the mixer—set up the mics on those then turn on the mixer and raise the master volume 3/4 of the way, that should be fine and have no feedback as long as the mics are a good distance apart.

Ordering/Receiving (posters & trailers):

Ordering/Receiving (content): Ingested keys for Scrooged, these activate on Sunday morning at 8.

Outgoing/Shipping (content): Deleted some more obsolete content from IMS servers and made a schedule for when things can be deleted from each server for the coming week, there will have to be some shuffling of content on/off the servers so things don't get too full. I'll inform projectionists of any scheduled deletions which fall within their shift.

Print/video Inspection:

Asset tracking doc updated/checked?: Added tracking for the West Side Story drive, coming tomorrow, and Don't Look Up, coming Monday 12/6.

Added Rocky IV: Rocky vs. Drago, the title has appeared on the Deluxe portal.

Added private events from the December calendar.

Maintenance/cleaning: I checked the light history on the projector in theater 1 and it turns out that when the last bulb before the current one was installed the person who did it input the wrong number of warranty expiration hours for the model of bulb (they entered 1000 when it should be 1900), so the projector gave me the light change warning before the bulb actually went over warranty hours (when I took it out, it was at 1190, 710 hours away from expiring). So I removed the lamp from the theater 2 projector and put this one in. Of course also ran some content after the auto-calibration and it looked good. So now theater 2 has a non-flickering lamp and it should be good for another month or so until we have to change it.

Took another look at projector #2 in theater 1, and before running any film I adjusted the gate again as it was too tight the way I had it. After that, I ran a test loop and from what I saw on screen the shakiness in the image was gone. I observed the exaggerated sprocket weave that's typical with test loops, but the side to side jitter was not a problem. I will run an actual print on this projector tomorrow (once again, the theater opened as I was looking at the test loop) and confirm that the issue is resolved. If it is, my guess would be that the turret was slightly out of position (it is possible to have it in a position where it seems locked, but actually is able to move around more than it should--I'll see if I can recreate the issue with the turret tomorrow if it is indeed resovled), and it was a combination of this with the slightly loose trap that caused the jitteriness on screen. This would make sense as the issue appeared after the screening of Tenet, which was scope, so I had to move the turret back to flat for the American Astronaut screening.

DMS sent us tracking for our order of two CDXL-16M bulbs (for the CP2215 projectors), it's due to arrive next Wednesday. We still have an order of one more CDXL-16M and two CDXL-30SP bulbs forthcoming.

Reorganized the poster caddy.

Cue sheets updated/checked (every shift): Finished cues for 12/9, with the exception of timing for West Side Story.

Marquee updated?:

Posters updated?: Swapped the posters of Matrix Resurrections and Sing! 2 in the lobby for Nightmare Alley and Spider-Man: No Way Home.

Cleaning lights on for the night?:

Projectors off for the night?:

Projection cart by TH5?:
