NPP Projection Report 2/20 Open


To do this evening/ was completed: Continued sorting VHS vault, will finish tomorrow during my closing shift.

Presentation Issues:

Preshow Clips/Playlist: Built and scheduled playlists for How to Train Your Dragon and Trees Lounge preshow.

Ingested Oscar Shorts preshow and some new NPP trailers.

Trailer Updates:

Special Events/ AV set up: The Lost Boys 35mm screening went well. There was a minor blip at the first changeover, when I hit the switch to turn on the motor it didn’t come on. I had accidentally hit a switch on the front of the projector (labeled “platter”) when sweeping the booth before the screening and hadn’t noticed, apparently this controls the motor. I quickly turned the switch on and started the second reel, there was about 5 seconds of leader on screen due to this. The reason I figured it out so quickly was because I hit a different switch while sweeping (labeled “proj”) which caused the light inside the projector body to go off, so I noticed this one right away but didn’t see that the platter switch had also been turned off until I went to start the second reel. 

Ordering/Receiving (posters & trailers):

Ordering/Receiving (content): Ingested Princess Kaguya to Theater 3.

Outgoing/Shipping (content): Fleshtone materials should be getting picked up tomorrow (2/21). I’ll schedule a pickup for The Lost Boys for Tuesday as the Fleshtone boxes are taking up all the space on the cart. The print is packed up in booth 1 and ready to return.

To do this evening/ was completed:v Mandy ingested to T1. Reached out to Vision for new posters. Was placed on hold, which was more an unending cycle of pressing 1 for hold and then being told to press 0 for voicemail or 1 for hold. Point being I left a voicemail requesting new posters. Gave them our account number, location and my cell. Outgoing marquee letters taken down. 11/10 playlists and forecasts deleted, Chicken Run V2 and Christmas Action trailers downloaded and ingested, 11/24 A1 playlists and packs built. Inspected Raising Cain print. It's in good condition, minimal scratching, no splices. Inspection sheet filled out. Transferred Marvels content to T6, as it was missing from the server due to the 1:20 tomorrow being a manual start. NPP Projection Report 4/6 Open

To do this evening/ was completed: Theater 3 issue happened again, Carly radioed me that the second round preshow didn't start. I was able to restart the projector and put the preshow on about 12 minutes before lights down. Trailers/feature played fine after that. I wrote again to DMS and Jerry said he'll have a list of parts to replace on Monday. For the sake of clarity, here is everything I've gathered about this issue: -When it happens, you won't be able to control playback via the TMS, manually fire automation cues, or access the IMS web GUI at all -Schedules for Theater 3 will display as "KDM missing" and the storage health icon on the Overview page will say "Storage degraded," even though the storage is healthy and KDMs have been uploaded and are active. -This issue prevents the server from validating KDMs (even though they are there and valid), so encrypted content will not play with the server in this state. To do this evening/ was completed: Hey all. Thanks for the Christmas coverage and for quickly hopping on board to accompany Alec while he's out for a little while - I really appreciate it. We've just about got our schedule sorted, so please remember to take a look to see the changes made.  Presentation Issues: Preshow Clips/Playlist: Double checked that T6 and T6 specific playlists are all set.  Tomorrow! Please get your eyes on When Harry Met Sally just to check sound/image and credits info. Screens this Saturday/Sunday but the keys open up tomorrow. I adjusted the playlist based on the ingest letter (and looked it up online, but the offset is a little different, so you'll want to make sure!) Thanks!
