NPP Projection Report 3/23 Admin

To do this evening/ was completed: Licorice Pizza playlist, feature CPL and preshow can get deleted from the servers after it’s one screening today.

Wild Things screens on 35mm in Theater 1 tonight. The preshow is scheduled and the print has been teched.

Presentation Issues:

Preshow Clips/Playlist: Built Jujutsu Kaisen (subbed and dubbed) and Labyrinth (both with intro slide and without) playlists and scheduled them. The credit offset timecode for Jujutsu Kaisen is the same for both versions, but the subtitled version is 7 minutes longer than the dubbed, so the dubbed has 10 minutes of credits and the subtitled has 17. I assume the extra 7 minutes is just more credits but we should check it tomorrow when the keys open to see what’s up.

Trailer Updates:

Special Events/ AV set up:

Ordering/Receiving (posters & trailers): Received Jujutsu Kaisen posters, put one in the tube for the archive and one in the caddy to hang up tomorrow night.

Reordered the caddy as well, put the remaining X poster in the archive tube along with The Lost City, and set aside the Licorice Pizza poster in one the triangular tubes for the guest who requested last month.

A new Trail Mix drive came.

Ordering/Receiving (content): The hosts for the 3/29 private event brought their new “7.1” DCP of their film, I ingested it to Theater 2 and they watched it through. It wasn’t truly 7.1, I think they just raised the volume of the mix changed their export settings without actually remixing anything for the extra two channels, so it played as 5.1. I looked on the Dolby controls on the Booth 6 PC at several points throughout the movie to make sure, and there was no signal coming from the back surrounds as there would be if it was mixed for 7.1. I had a feeling this would be the case as they didn’t mention anything about changing the sound mix, only repackaging the DCP. They were very happy with how it sounded though so I didn’t say anything.

Received Jujutsu Kaisen and Labyrinth DCPs.

The Repo Man print arrived.

Still waiting on the Deep Red drive from AGFA, they claimed it was included on the drive with Chopping Mall but it definitely wasn’t. I’m sure because not only did it not show up on the ingest scan, but since the Chopping Mall ingest failed from their drive and I plugged it into the iMac to try copying it over to our hard drive, I saw the Chopping Mall DCP was the only file on that drive. I’ve requested they send up a download link for the Deep Red DCP, so we should be getting that tonight or tomorrow.

Outgoing/Shipping (content): Returned the first DCP of Shudderbugs to the hosts.

Print/video Inspection: Began inspecting Repo Man, looks to be in very good condition. I went over inspecting with Jack and he will finish this tonight.

Looked at Inspector Ike and Video Diary of a Lost Girl (along with the trailer to play during the Q&A) in Theater 3 with Cristina. Everything looked good.

Asset tracking doc updated/checked?: Yes, updated entries for Labyrinth, Jujutsu Kaisen, and Video Diary.

Maintenance/cleaning: Ran a test pattern on screen in Theater 2 to check the light levels. I ended up lowering the power very slightly to make it appear more even. It is still very bright. I think anything with movies appearing dim would be due to the movies themselves as when I’ve watched other content on this screen (for example the NSF shorts over the weekend and the DCP for the private event today, which both had a few very bright moments) it did not appear dim. I think lowering the power made an overall improvement to the image as, like I said, it makes the light appear more even and is not perceptibly any dimmer, it’s still running at a high intensity.

Cue sheets updated/checked (every shift): Yes, double checked Lost City showtimes and updated credit times for Jujutsu Kaisen and Labyrinth. Filled in the Oscar Party, Shudderbugs (3/29 private event), and Video Diary cues following their event memos. No playlist for Video Diary yet, waiting on the intro/Q&A slide, same goes for Shudderbugs.

Marquee updated?: Got letters out for both the new first runs this week, since there’s the 35 screening during the last round tonight this can get done tomorrow during admin.

Posters updated?:

Projectors off for the night?:
