NPP Projection Report 3/31 Admin

To do this evening/ was completed: Video Diary of a Lost Girl screening with intro & Q&A. 3 mics and the mixer are set up in Theater 3, with one mic stand for the intro if needed. Spotlight remote is in the plastic case behind the curtain on the right side of the screen. During the Q&A, projection will be cued to play a trailer for the director’s new film which is included in the playlist. Have the laptop ready with Splashtop open in the back of the theater while recording the Q&A and press play on the server when cued, lights will go down and sound will switch over (and volume will lower) and the trailer will play, then going back to preshow lights, Q&A slide, mic input & volume with a cue to pause the slide after.

I noticed that mics and XLR cables were left in the mixer bin after the last use. Though these things are frequently used together let’s still separate them into their own bins since sometimes they are needed as extras for 1 & 2 and in Trees Lounge.

Presentation Issues:

Preshow Clips/Playlist:

Trailer Updates:

Special Events/ AV set up: Set up mics in Theater 3 for the intro and Q&A tonight. Checked the feature and the trailer with Cristina last week and the playlist is good to go.

Ordering/Receiving (posters & trailers): Received a Top Gun: Maverick standee, placed it in the recycling dumpster.

Received a new Trail Mix drive, ingested a red band trailer for Men and a new Top Gun: Maverick trailer.

Ordering/Receiving (content): Had the same issue ingesting Morbius to Theater 3 as I did with Theater 7 yesterday, though I assumed that now the keys are active it wouldn’t be a problem but apparently if any keys are ingested at all it screws up the ingest. It has to be something with this particular DCP, as keys had been loaded for Everything Everywhere and that transferred to all servers without a problem. In any case, I deleted the Morbius key from Theater 3’s server, let the feature ingest and then re-ingested the keys. I left a note about this on the whiteboard for when it inevitably gets moved around to other theaters, but it’s ingested to every house in which it will be playing for this week.

Outgoing/Shipping (content): Walked outgoing hard drives to the UPS store.

Attached the included return label for the Everything Everywhere drive for when it eventually goes back. Note that this is a FedEx label and not UPS, so it can be dropped in the FedEx drop off box just outside the pharmacy/UPS store. Have a feeling it won’t be leaving us for a little while, though.

Print/video Inspection: Teched Morbius and Everything Everywhere playlists, both are good to go.

Asset tracking doc updated/checked?: Yes, added tracking for Shrek 2 which has been shipped with UPS Next Day so it should be here tomorrow.

Updated delivery date for the High Tide print, it’s been delayed to Monday 4/4.

Maintenance/cleaning: Cleaned Christie lenses in Theaters 1, 4, and 6 and cleaned all 35mm lenses in each booth. Cleaned all port glass windows in 4/6 and Booth 1 as well. Didn’t get to 3/7 before they opened like I’d planned, will get an early start tomorrow so I can do those and lenses/windows in Booths 2 and 5 as planned. Jack cleaned the booth side of the glass in 5 today but I’m going to try removing it and cleaning the other side, the projector lens is right up against it though so it may be difficult to take out. Since the window is recessed quite a bit into the wall on the theater side, it might be difficult to clean it on a ladder from inside the theater as well, but I’ll see what I can do.

Updated some dates in the maintenance doc with the idea that the last week of every month we perform basic booth maintenance tasks, cleaning windows, lenses, and vacuuming dust out of the projectors and rack equipment. 4/6 on Monday, 1 & 2 on Tuesday, 3/7 on Wednesday, and 5 on Thursday.

Cue sheets updated/checked (every shift): Checked all credit times for Everything Everywhere, checked the rest of the cues yesterday so they’re all set.

Marquee updated?:

Posters updated?:

Cleaning lights on for the night?:

Projection cart by entrance?: Yes

Additional Notes: Ran the channel ID test in Theater 1 before opening. No issues today.
