NPP Projection Report 7/29

To do this evening/ was completed:

Presentation Issues:

Preshow Clips/Playlist: All show playlists that needed to be adjusted (Nope, Thor: Love and Thunder, and Top Gun: Maverick) have been updated through the week; downloaded and ingested all new and available pre-show/trailer content for the upcoming week

Trailer Updates:

Special Events/ AV set up: Stored the turntable case in the closet space by Trees Lounge; Gerard assisted me with lifting it up the stairs and suggested we consider storing it beneath the stairs to the mezzanine to avoid having to bring it up those steps every time we break down the setup

The speakers and stands used during last night's event in theater 2 were brought down to theater 1 and placed back behind the curtain

Ordering/Receiving (posters & trailers):

Outgoing/Shipping (content):

Print/video Inspection: Desmond and Cristina asked to see a few reels of Malcolm X in theater 4 and to take a look at the Escape from New York DCP in theater 1; I already checked the DCP some days ago and made notes about the volume and credit offset information in the asset tracking doc so this was a little unnecessary -- as for Malcolm X, the volume has been noted and the final 4 reels are still being inspected

Update: As I was continuing to let the film run in theater 4 with the lamp off following the Malcolm X tech, the motor band broke and the feed reel continued running while the take-up reel stopped completely; a fair amount of film hit the floor and I was able to stop the motor before any more of the print hit the ground (it should be noted that this reel - reel 2 - was already moderately scratched, which I noticed during my inspection, and I did not see any additional scratching or tearing as I wound the reel back to its head and wiped it clean of dust/dirt with an inspection glove)

I took a spare belt loop from the utility closet in theater 1 and thread a new loop through projector 2's motor in theater 4; it seems to be holding fast for now but I will continue to monitor it during the screening of Good Burger tomorrow morning

Took a look at Paprika in theater 3 between rounds this evening; the image looks good and the sound is loud enough at the normal 5.0 level (the subtitles are colored yellow and are not highlighted but can easily be read)

Finished inspecting Malcolm X; the print is moderately scratched and lightly warped throughout in addition to having a vinegar smell on some of the reels but the picture looks good otherwise (on screen too) and the volume has been noted

Asset tracking doc updated/checked?: Yes (for all titles screened/inspected this afternoon)

Maintenance/cleaning:

Cue sheets updated/checked (every shift): All credit start/end times have been updated for the show playlists through the week

Marquee updated?: Added letters for DC League of Super-Pets

Posters updated?: Removed Where the Crawdads Sing and placed a DC League of Super-Pets one sheet outside

Cleaning lights on for the night?: Yes

Projection cart by entrance?: Behind 3/7 for the weekend
