NPP Projection Close 8/8



To do this evening/ was completed: Inspected the first three reels of Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me. The print is in really good condition with relatively minimal base scratching. The only significant damage I noticed was a long vertical emulsion scratch right after the motor cue on reel three. All damage has been logged on the inspection sheet. Uploaded stills to Google Drive and notified Conrad.

One other potential minor anomaly (though maybe it's just something I haven't noticed before): there's often a straight white line that appears at the top of the frame when the film cuts to a new shot. The line is only on the first frame of each new shot. Not sure if it's the way the print was struck--curious to know what it might be.

Presentation Issues: Rounds two and three in T2 did not start as automated. 

When I changed over to reel four of Fifth Element, the screen was black. I immediately realized that I had forgotten to close the lens turret. The screen was black for 3-4 seconds. That's my bad.

Special Events/ AV set up: Fifth Element screening went smoothly with one presentation hiccup detailed above. Print has been rewound for re-inspection. Dusted off the projectors after the show but did not remove the traps on either projector as they were too hot. Took at a look at them though, and there wasn't any gunk/build-up.

To do this evening/ was completed:v Mandy ingested to T1. Reached out to Vision for new posters. Was placed on hold, which was more an unending cycle of pressing 1 for hold and then being told to press 0 for voicemail or 1 for hold. Point being I left a voicemail requesting new posters. Gave them our account number, location and my cell. Outgoing marquee letters taken down. 11/10 playlists and forecasts deleted, Chicken Run V2 and Christmas Action trailers downloaded and ingested, 11/24 A1 playlists and packs built. Inspected Raising Cain print. It's in good condition, minimal scratching, no splices. Inspection sheet filled out. Transferred Marvels content to T6, as it was missing from the server due to the 1:20 tomorrow being a manual start. NPP Projection Report 4/6 Open

To do this evening/ was completed: Theater 3 issue happened again, Carly radioed me that the second round preshow didn't start. I was able to restart the projector and put the preshow on about 12 minutes before lights down. Trailers/feature played fine after that. I wrote again to DMS and Jerry said he'll have a list of parts to replace on Monday. For the sake of clarity, here is everything I've gathered about this issue: -When it happens, you won't be able to control playback via the TMS, manually fire automation cues, or access the IMS web GUI at all -Schedules for Theater 3 will display as "KDM missing" and the storage health icon on the Overview page will say "Storage degraded," even though the storage is healthy and KDMs have been uploaded and are active. -This issue prevents the server from validating KDMs (even though they are there and valid), so encrypted content will not play with the server in this state. To do this evening/ was completed: Hey all. Thanks for the Christmas coverage and for quickly hopping on board to accompany Alec while he's out for a little while - I really appreciate it. We've just about got our schedule sorted, so please remember to take a look to see the changes made.  Presentation Issues: Preshow Clips/Playlist: Double checked that T6 and T6 specific playlists are all set.  Tomorrow! Please get your eyes on When Harry Met Sally just to check sound/image and credits info. Screens this Saturday/Sunday but the keys open up tomorrow. I adjusted the playlist based on the ingest letter (and looked it up online, but the offset is a little different, so you'll want to make sure!) Thanks!
