NPP Projection Open 8/27

To do this evening/ was completed: Set up DJ gear in Trees.

Presentation Issues: At the start of Iron Giant, as the intro credits were rolling, I noticed that the CP500 had switched from Dolby Digital to Dolby SR. I tried to switch over to Digital but the processor would not allow that as the film was running, so I closed the heat shield and stopped the motor to switch to the right format. This pause lasted 5-10 seconds, before the film started proper. A few minutes later the CP500 switched back to SR, then back to Digital, then back to SR again. Nothing was wrong with my threading, so I resolved to run the audio in the SR format. Went into the theater a few times to check things out and the movie sounded great.

At the beginning of reel three the picture was out of frame despite the countdown being framed properly. Easy adjustment, no problem. I checked the reel after the show and made sure the countdown leader was in frame. When I got to the picture it was out of frame by one sprocket, so for tomorrow's show you should frame the countdown with the top of the frame one perforation beneath the top of the aperture plate.

Additional Notes: Patron showed up for round two in T2, having selected seat 2111 because it's listed as ADA online. However that seat cannot be removed on its own, so we ended up removing the seat that's at the end of the row. This has happened a few times before.
