NPP Projection Report 8/11 Admin


To do this evening/ was completed:

Presentation Issues:

Preshow Clips/Playlist: Built and scheduled the Emily the Criminal playlist.

Downloaded and ingested the Last Seduction trailer and built a playlist for the No Way Out preshow.

Trailer Updates:

Special Events/ AV set up:

Ordering/Receiving (posters & trailers):

Ordering/Receiving (content): Emily the Criminal drive came. Ingested to TMS and sent to all servers.

Out of Bounds print came as well, brought it up to booth 1.

Outgoing/Shipping (content): Contacted Sony about picking up The Fifth Element. A courier will be coming to collect it tomorrow.

Print/video Inspection: Began reinspecting Jungle Fever. I’ll arrange for DHL to have this picked up along with Crooklyn on Monday.

Ran some of Crooklyn in Theater 4 for Desmond, it looks and sounds great.

We also quickly checked both slides for Mo Better Blues in Theater 1.

Checked the Bodies Bodies Bodies playlist, it’s all set.

Went over adding footage markers to prints with no countdown with Jack so he can continue inspecting Days of Thunder tonight.

Asset tracking doc updated/checked?: Added tracking for Men in Black, the drive was delayed so there’s no estimated delivery date. Deluxe says delivery is expected tomorrow so fingers crossed.

Maintenance/cleaning: I was still seeing soft focus on the right side of the screen with certain prints from projector 2 in Theater 4. Jungle Fever was one of them so I ran the first reel while trying a few things. First I tried shifting the lens in the collar in both directions which didn’t help. Then I removed the trap and removed the gate bands and put them back on with slightly less tension. After that the focus looked even.

DMS was here today. They replaced the IMCB board on the Christie in Theater 1, so the dowser is working again and we are safe to replace the bulb when it reaches warranty hours. They also refocused and aligned the lamp, though they mentioned the X and Z sensor failed to align automatically. They did it manually but they said they can order new sensors for us and that they’re pretty cheap parts. It shouldn’t affect presentation though even if we change the bulb.

DMS also replaced the CP750 in Theater 1.

They ran out of time to replace the ballast in the Theater 2 Christie. It was delivered around 2pm, and they said there was not enough time to replace it before the theater opened at 3:20. Jerry said they would likely come back tomorrow morning to replace it. I brought it up to booth 2.

Along with the ballast, we got 3 16M and 2 30SP bulbs for the Christie’s. I brought the 16M up to 4/6 and stored 1 30SP in both booth 1 and booth 2.

Received part of our order of Goldberg reels, we got 7 of 15. Put them under the rewind bench in booth 1.

Cue sheets updated/checked (every shift): Filled in cues for Emily the Criminal. Be aware it overlaps with a lot of the following preshows by two minutes so there’s quite a few manual starts in this week’s schedule. Filled in credit times for both 35mm screenings over the weekend, as well.

To do this evening/ was completed: Hey all! Well, we're just about there! Barbenheimer starts tomorrow. Alec and I ran the print this morning as a dress rehearsal to check image/sound and to give our lovely staff a first look. The print looks really beautiful and I'm very excited for this run. NPP Projection 11/17 Close

To do this evening/ was completed:v Mandy ingested to T1. Reached out to Vision for new posters. Was placed on hold, which was more an unending cycle of pressing 1 for hold and then being told to press 0 for voicemail or 1 for hold. Point being I left a voicemail requesting new posters. Gave them our account number, location and my cell. Outgoing marquee letters taken down. 11/10 playlists and forecasts deleted, Chicken Run V2 and Christmas Action trailers downloaded and ingested, 11/24 A1 playlists and packs built. Inspected Raising Cain print. It's in good condition, minimal scratching, no splices. Inspection sheet filled out. Transferred Marvels content to T6, as it was missing from the server due to the 1:20 tomorrow being a manual start.
