NPP Projection Report 8/15 Admin

To do this evening/ was completed: Completed Dolby house checks in all auditoriums and noticed the left and right rear surround speakers in theater 3 are extremely crackly; I rebooted the processors in the room to see if that wouldn't fix the problem but I think it's strictly a speaker cone issue as the same thing occurred when I played the house check CPL a second time (it was difficult to notice when I put feature content on screen, it seems like the rest of the mix disguised how crackly those rear speakers sound)

Presentation Issues: 

Preshow Clips/Playlist: Built and scheduled the Men in Black show playlist for tomorrow's screening (had to reach out to Deluxe about sending us the keys to play it -- keys were apparently on hold so I've reached out to Desmond to try to resolve the matter with the booking); keys were uploaded and ingested

Trailer Updates: "BebesKids_V2" was transferred to theater 3 for the Men in Black screening

Special Events/ AV set up: 

Ordering/Receiving (posters & trailers):

Ordering/Receiving (content): Received two Men in Black DCPs in addition to drives for The Goonies and Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero

Outgoing/Shipping (content): Brought all outgoing DCP drives to the UPS store

Print/video Inspection: Cristina asked to take a look at No Way Out so I ran the first reel (the only one that has been inspected) and focused the image as sharply as I could but it still looks a little soft the way some older prints tend to; also took note of volume levels for both processors and wrote those on the index card attached to the print

To do this evening/ was completed: Scheduled 1/3 - 1/9 in LMS. A few manual starts in there. I scheduled those shows just a minute or two after their real start time to get the content transferred, just FYI. Started building the cue sheets as well. Got the first three days done. SE screenings went smoothly. Projection Admin (and Close) 10/19

To do this evening/ was completed: Real quick - It was a great day! For tonight, I've let MOD know that, since I'm more comfortable staying until most of the last round starts (due to some funky server issues we've been having), I'm going to go see a movie in T2 and can silently text with them if they need anything or should anything go wrong (knocking on wood).  Extremely thrilled to say that all three NewFest shows went very well this morning/afternoon. It was definitely a bit of a magic trick with some overlapping intros/Q&As but having my personal ROS helped so much. Thank you to Desmond, NewFest rockstar.  Desmond and I double checked all shows before doors. Gaffed the wired mics and tested everything. Since one guest for the q&a in T2 wasn't comfortable with the chairs, we swapped our directors chairs for the ones in the bar, which still worked super well with the slides and spots.  Had to ride the mic in trees a bit since everyone's got a differen...

NPP Projection Report 4/6 Open

To do this evening/ was completed: Theater 3 issue happened again, Carly radioed me that the second round preshow didn't start. I was able to restart the projector and put the preshow on about 12 minutes before lights down. Trailers/feature played fine after that. I wrote again to DMS and Jerry said he'll have a list of parts to replace on Monday. For the sake of clarity, here is everything I've gathered about this issue: -When it happens, you won't be able to control playback via the TMS, manually fire automation cues, or access the IMS web GUI at all -Schedules for Theater 3 will display as "KDM missing" and the storage health icon on the Overview page will say "Storage degraded," even though the storage is healthy and KDMs have been uploaded and are active. -This issue prevents the server from validating KDMs (even though they are there and valid), so encrypted content will not play with the server in this state.
