Admin/Partial Close 10/27 & 28 (Lillian) Special Events Prep, 35mm, and more.

To do this evening/ was completed: Bit of a recap here! I had a super late night on Wednesday, trying to troubleshoot tech for a last minute staff meeting the next day, and prep for our general duties plus Shouting at the Screen. I had set up the wired mics in T2 the night before, but we wound up having to move them and set up again. For the staff meeting that was supposed to take place in T3, yesterday morning, I wound up having Jack switch it into T1 and talked him through the set up over the phone. I'll put this info in the Projectionist manual since it's similar to what we'd do for Spoons, but for live Zoom/Google Meet events you have to make sure that the settings (input/output) in either Zoom or Google Meet are comparable to your laptop settings. The input is always the laptop speakers and the output will be the theater speakers. In T2, should we ever do one in there, you would hook up the laptop directly to the Christie. In T1, we already have the Aja setup, so you would hook it up in the Theater, rather than the booth. This does, of course, work best in T1 because you can face the laptop towards the audience.

Shouting at the Screen went just fine--for future reference, should one of our amplifiers ever go out and we don't have a spare, this PA speaker setup will be the solution.

Schedule for next week has been posted. Matthew is taking a look at our holiday plan. We'll post that soon, too. Everyone pretty much has their first/second choice!

Presentation Issues:

Preshow Clips/Playlist:

Trailer Updates:

Special Events/ AV set up: I met with John today to go over tech for Night of the Living Dead, and whilst it's not a cumbersome setup, there was a bit of a mishap in regards to the DCP. We received a CRU drive for NOTLD, which I ingested and built the playlist for. He did not realise Alec was out ill until a few days ago, and Alec had mentioned to him that we had kept DCP of NOTLD show from one year ago somewhere on a projector's server, the TMS in general, on our comp or on an external drive. I checked all of these and we don't have it apart from a NOTLD file of a VHS rip that John confirmed was not the right file. He said this specific DCP has every cue for the band and was built by them. I was not aware of any of this as there is no email and no mention of it on the memo and I spent a good chunk of time on the phone with one of the folks in the band who needed help sending the file to us. Turns out, we had a copy of it at Williamsburg, which is most likely what Alec meant. Joe extracted the file and John brought it back this evening. The DCP wasn't properly formatted, so I made a new one in DCP-o-matic and it is currently rendering. Please ingest when done.
I'll update the tech info on the memo for NOTLD.

Ordering/Receiving (posters & trailers):

Ordering/Receiving (content):

Outgoing/Shipping (content): Shipping out The Faculty. Getting some DCPs out-- NewFest/Bird Cage/TrailMix

Print/video Inspection: I ran some of Demons for Cristina and messed around with our 1.85 plates a bit as the vertical masking looked quite off. I manually adjusted it in the theater. Will troubleshoot more tomorrow. This sound was listed as Mono on the print report, but it sounded better in SR. This might've been reprinted and I'll have a look through the reels to see if the tracks differ, because they most likely do. It can be very hard to catch...
play this loud at 7.0 on the cp500 and 7.5 on the cp50.
