NPP Projection Admin 10/18



To do this evening/ was completed: Went through an extensive tech this morning with Desmond, Gabe from D Media, and some NewFest reps/coordinators. We teched the Wendell and Wild playlist, which is all good to go. However, the feature itself was providing a little bit of difficulty, as some people felt they couldn't really hear any of the mix coming from the side speakers. I was seeing sound from the side surrounds on the circular display on the CP750, which we initially mistook to be the rears. Initially I was unable to access the Dolby app via the T6 PC, so Gabe connected to our server with an ethernet cable and we switched the Decode Mode from 7.1 Surround to 5.1 Discrete, which resolved the issue--the mix sounds good now, (however Alec will be able to shed some more light on the difference between the two settings when used in our auditoriums. In short the 5.1 discrete will give you sound from all seven speakers when you're running a 5.1 mix. The 7.1 Surround will play a 5.1 mix as it should, with sound coming from the side surrounds, nothing from the rear). We also ran through a Sync test, which initially was not available on the T1 server, so I transferred it. It's labeled as SYNC_ONE2_TST_F etc. Gabe also bumped up the levels slightly on the side surround speakers. EQ was not altered/probed. 

Teched The Birdcage playlist in T3--ended up bumping the feature volume to 6.5 and added a holding slide to the end of the playlist at his Desmond's request--all good to go.

Sent Black Adam to all servers.

Removed the mute cue attached to the Audience Award slide at the end of the Wendell and Wild playlist, as it's been preferred to transition to that slide in the middle of the Q&As, instead of at the end when everyone is filing out.

Tried to scan EclairPlay for The Menu trailer but it was taking forever. Please attempt again and then add that trailer to the R rated pack once it's ingested.

Ordering/Receiving (posters & trailers): We received two posters for Decision to Leave, which have been organized in the caddy. I threw away some of the older posters we have and made some additions to the archive.

Ordering/Receiving (content): Received DCP drives for Till and Decision to Leave. Ingestion has started--asset tracking updated.

Outgoing/Shipping (content): Took outgoing DCPs to UPS.

Print/video Inspection:

Asset tracking doc updated/checked?: Reached out to Cristina about Clockwork Orange DCP tracking, as the screening is a week away. John W ended up reaching out to Warner Bros for more info--tracking has been logged in the asset sheet, DCP set to arrive on Thursday 10/20. Added tracking info for Demons 35mm too--delivery scheduled for tomorrow.

To do this evening/ was completed: Hey all! Well, we're just about there! Barbenheimer starts tomorrow. Alec and I ran the print this morning as a dress rehearsal to check image/sound and to give our lovely staff a first look. The print looks really beautiful and I'm very excited for this run. NPP Projection 11/17 Close

To do this evening/ was completed:v Mandy ingested to T1. Reached out to Vision for new posters. Was placed on hold, which was more an unending cycle of pressing 1 for hold and then being told to press 0 for voicemail or 1 for hold. Point being I left a voicemail requesting new posters. Gave them our account number, location and my cell. Outgoing marquee letters taken down. 11/10 playlists and forecasts deleted, Chicken Run V2 and Christmas Action trailers downloaded and ingested, 11/24 A1 playlists and packs built. Inspected Raising Cain print. It's in good condition, minimal scratching, no splices. Inspection sheet filled out. Transferred Marvels content to T6, as it was missing from the server due to the 1:20 tomorrow being a manual start.
