To do this evening/ was completed:

Presentation Issues:

Preshow Clips/Playlist: I made some tweaks to a few NewFest playlists:
  • Added masking cues to Brooklyn Brunch, Experiments on Existence, and All the World's a Stage.
  • The New Class also needed some more adjustments. Following the first short in the program, which is scope, there was the 1.85 Lens/Masking change pack and then a cue to switch the masking to 1.78 for the following short. Instead of this I just added a bit of black between the shorts with cues to switch the projector lens to 1.85 and the masking to 1.78. I also removed the 2:1 masking cue from the third short (Mercury Afrograde), since masking this would require a lens change. I added the lens/masking change pack for this one, the 1.85 pack for the following short and slides/clips. I also adjusted the Q&A section of the playlist. I added cues to bring the lights down and switch sound to DCP for the "Yearbook" video after the first Q&A, I'm assuming this has sound. I put a cue for 4.5, but this is sight unseen so it should be checked (unless I'm wrong and it doesn't have sound). I also added the "Queer Animators" slide before the three clips, they will start the second Q&A, and then cue the three clips.
  • Also, in the New Class playlist, the server pause cues were not placed properly on some of the slides, it came before the 8.0 volume cue for the mics. When you are placing a pause cue on a slide, make sure it comes after any cues which you'll want to go through before the playlist pauses (switch sound to mics, raise volume), as the server will not fire any cues after the pause. After the pause, but still attached to the slide, is also a good place to put cues for house lights down, or switching sound back to DCP, if you're going from a slide into a feature, program, or, in this case, the clips.
  • Keep in mind, there will be an exit slide (an onscreen slide for when people are exiting the theater) for The New Class program, which is still yet to be delivered.
A general note for shorts playlists, too. Place 5 seconds of black between the shorts and, if the masking needs to change for a short, put the cue at the very beginning of the black clip preceding the short so the masking doesn't start changing as the short begins.

Trailer Updates:

Special Events/ AV set up: I tried connecting the RCA cables to the remaining two TV screens in Trees, but this was too disruptive to service. I’ll stop by Prospect again on Monday morning and take care of this.

Ordering/Receiving (posters & trailers):

Ordering/Receiving (content): Transferred Wendell & Wild to Th1.

Outgoing/Shipping (content):

Print/video Inspection:

Asset tracking doc updated/checked?:

Maintenance/cleaning: Regreased the motor gears in projector #2 in Th1.

Cue sheets updated/checked (every shift): Updated cues for New Fest this week. Remember, all NewFest shows have 45 minutes of preshow, and remember to include Q&As on the cue sheet. When in doubt on timing, check the event memo. Most special events have different timing than our regular first run playlists. The only thing we should compare against our content is the program/feature run time, which may be slightly different than what’s on the memo. Otherwise, match the timing of content in the playlist to the event memo.
