NPP Projection Report 10/17

Might as well post an NPP blog today.

To do this evening/ was completed:

Presentation Issues: The New Class program ended up having lots of issues. Lillian can give more details than I can but by the time I arrived she was speaking to the festival people about the possibility of doing the playlist manually, but also being worried about continuing to have issues with one particular short. When she tried playing this short in the playlist, it wouldn’t play and the playlist skipped back to the previous short. It seemed that after hard rebooting the projector/server (I suggested this over the phone), the playlist worked fine, as when I got to the computer tried running the playlist, there were no issues. By the time we figured out the playlist would work, the festival director had decided to cancel all of the content and just do the panel, despite us saying the playlist would work. There will definitely be more details on this. 

Earlier in the day, the Theater 4 Christie was showing up “offline” on the TMS and the IMS webpage would not load. Some ethernet cables were a bit loose which solved it. Just to be clear, you can see the server has started and is running properly if the dots next to “IMB,” “ICP,” and “Marriage” are green. Sometimes things go wrong when starting up, but the touch panel will usually display an error.

Projection Admin 7/19

To do this evening/ was completed: Hey all! Well, we're just about there! Barbenheimer starts tomorrow. Alec and I ran the print this morning as a dress rehearsal to check image/sound and to give our lovely staff a first look. The print looks really beautiful and I'm very excited for this run. We'll get our eyes on the DCP tomorrow to compare sound, though we're almost certain the loud, static noises that occur during scenes of explosions or closeups of nuclear particles are intentional.  I want to share with everyone a document I've whipped up called Housekeeping Notes for the Projectionist: Plattering Oppenheimer. NPP Projection 11/17 Close

To do this evening/ was completed:v Mandy ingested to T1. Reached out to Vision for new posters. Was placed on hold, which was more an unending cycle of pressing 1 for hold and then being told to press 0 for voicemail or 1 for hold. Point being I left a voicemail requesting new posters. Gave them our account number, location and my cell. Outgoing marquee letters taken down. 11/10 playlists and forecasts deleted, Chicken Run V2 and Christmas Action trailers downloaded and ingested, 11/24 A1 playlists and packs built. Inspected Raising Cain print. It's in good condition, minimal scratching, no splices. Inspection sheet filled out. Transferred Marvels content to T6, as it was missing from the server due to the 1:20 tomorrow being a manual start. To do this evening/ was completed: Presentation Issues: Preshow Clips/Playlist: Built a show playlist for Interstellar (all this needs is a volume cue which can be added once the film is tech'd) Trailer Updates: Special Events/ AV set up: Taking Off screening in theater 1 went really well Ordering/Receiving (posters & trailers): Ordering/Receiving (content): Jawbreaker keys were downloaded and ingested Downloaded and ingested the "Antonias Line" trailer for the Boxcar Bertha pre-show Outgoing/Shipping (content): Print/video Inspection: Re-inspected Taking Off after the screening and placed all reels back on their shipping reels/in their canisters (also reached out the necessary parties at DHL and NBC/Universal to schedule a pickup) Asset tracking doc updated/checked?: Updated information for a few titles this upcoming week Maintenance/cleaning: Cue sheets updated/checked (every shift): Marquee updated?: Removed Taking Off and added letters for  Boxcar Bertha  to the 3
