Projection Admin 11/18 (Lillian & Alec) Spotlight Board Update ~ plus T4 spot fix!

To do this evening/ was completed: Hey, everyone! Hope you're all keeping warm out there. If I haven't mentioned it before, please remember to bring an extra sweater or coat since it gets crazy cold up in the 4/6 booth. A hat wouldn't be too bad of an idea, either...

Today Alec sorted through the manual for the Spotlight Board in T1. I threw up a couple of different slides for us to play around with after teching the Hook slide with Desmond, who we had move around a bit by the stage so that we could test out the lights a bite more. Alec will provide more info about this in the Projectionist Manual, but we can programme some 200 odd presets for washes! Presets for a center spot have also been adjusted. We sort of decided that it'd be cool to have some ready made presets and then, depending on the original composition of the client/in-house slide that will be used for an event, we can just adjust the brightness level. It's super easy to programme a bunch of presets! Thanks, Alec, for taking a look at this.

Trailer Updates:

Special Events/ AV set up: Chenelle updated the rental memo for 11/22, which is a field trip for MS 442 in T1 from 10:30 to 12:30. The movie is Ratatouille and they'll be bringing their own BluRay. Jack, you've been tagged in this event. A short playlist with kid-friendly preshow can be built now! 

HBO sent us their media assets via Aspera (sooner than the initial Nov 21st date, too, which is great!). They sent us 3 trailers and the Gossip Girl episode. I downloaded all of these to the VHS Vault so that we can keep our own content on the DCP II drive (we had a lot of preshow assets today), so this just helps with workflow. These assets have also been ingested to the TMS now. Kim, who is the NewFest representative for this HBO event, reached out in regards to tech dates, and I sent them our certs for T1 so we can get a few KDMs. The first KDM will be a test just for us to check to make sure all files have correctly ingested and seem sound-these keys will be issued on November 21st, at 11am. I will pop in during the morning shift to check on this. Jack, you'll be in that morning so I'll reach out to you via email. 

The second KDM will be issued for our tech date with HBO x NewFest on November 28th, which will be live 30 mins before our tech time, so 11:30am to 1:30pm. I've requested that the KDM for our official show be at active for at least 24 hours for some cushion time. We're now waiting on a Holding Slide, which Kim should be sending over to me later this evening! 

As far as Karaoke goes, I just want to reiterate here that we will not be doing it again until December, so we have ample time to plan ahead. Our new adapters should be arriving soon! I am excited to make this a fun staple here. Ignore the 11/23 karaoke date on the event calendar as it needs to come down. 

Ordering/Receiving (posters & trailers):

Ordering/Receiving (content): The folks sending us Hook accidentally sent us the shipping date as the arrival date, so we should be receiving Hook on 11/23, which just enough time to do a good inspection. 

We received DCPs of Ishtar, Bones & All, and White Noise.  

Outgoing/Shipping (content): 

Print/video Inspection: Alec inspected Body of Evidence. I ran The Hidden for Cristina in T4 and noted volume for both the processors. It looks and sounds great! A few print pics are available on the drive for Conrad, and I sent Cristina some videos from the booth. I kind of want to do a second inspection for this one just to make sure it's not A-type or SR. It is currently listed as 'Mono' for sound. 

Asset tracking doc updated/checked?: Yes!

Maintenance/cleaning: Alec took the dead spot out of T4 and replaced it with one of the spots from T6 since we rarely use that theatre for intros/35mm. We will, of course, order more for a permanent solution. Thank you, Alec, for being incredibly tall. 

Cue sheets updated/checked (every shift): We are continuing to update these with credits offset for 35 shows, special events and some A1 shows that either just arrived and need to be ingested or that we don't have a KDM for yet.
