Projection Close 11/21 (Lillian) HBO Updates, Maintenance Notes, etc. Happy Holidays!

To do this evening/ was completed: Hey everyone, thanks for bearing with me over the weekend as I wasn't feeling so hot. Had a pretty gnarly 24hr virus Saturday night. Just a little congested now. I took a covid test and I don't have it--just so everyone knows. I'll get tested again this week just to be sure.

Tonight I ran The Hidden in T4 on 35 and it was a packed house! Loads of different faces in there. Very fun.
Digital projector in T4 gave us a critical warning during the shutdown process in the playlist. The bulb is halfway thru its lifespan. Normally, we put in less hours than they're capable of so that we know when to check in on them and don't push their limits. I'll take a look at this properly this week, but it shouldn't present any issues. The actual warning really stemmed from the playlist's 'lamp off' cue, which is not an initial shutdown. I'm curious as to whether or not this has presented any problems in the past.

Presentation Issues: I saw in the blog over the weekend that some of the scheduling had gone awry on the TMS. I'll be triple checking the cue sheets and TMS. We should all remember to take an extensive look at the cue sheet and TMS schedule for each shift that we're on to make sure things look sound.

Preshow Clips/Playlist: I made playlists for all of our upcoming staff screenings and scheduled them on the TMS.

Trailer Updates:

Special Events/ AV set up: Thanks, Jack, for keeping me in the loop this morning for the first KDM window for our tech check of HBO content for 11/30's Gossip Girl event. I communicated with Kim and her team this morning to make sure we're keeping up momentum for this, and reiterated that all assets look and sound great. I downloaded the NewFest Land Acknowledgment she sent over, made a DCP and ingested it to the TMS, transferring the clip to T1. I relayed the extensive possibilities we have for wash/spots and we'll be playing with some softer white lights for this one, come the 28th. They ask that we have one wired mic for moderating and can use the four wireless for their group of 8 or 9 guests (number of guests is TBD), which we will put atop every other chair. Since we're still in discussion with HBOxNewFest for their DJ needs, we might need our Yamaha mixer in Trees, and it can't be in two places at once or quickly transferred, so I'll be looking to lock down plans for that pretty fast. I know we might want to have a few more mixers on hand.
The NewFest folks also want a video of theirs displayed on the bar TVs in Trees, on loop. Once we get this content, I'll do a tech asap and provide further instructions should Alec nor I be on location. I'm confident this will be a great event.

Jack mentioned the difficulty of finding another ethernet cable in his blog today, so just to everyone knows-- some time ago, I actually found extras in the storage area where the dolly is. Some are quite small, others are a little bigger but certainly under six feet. We had another long one we haven't been using in T2, which I brought to the 4/6 booth. It's blue. We should go over the cable set up with everyone at some point. It's super useful for loads of stuff.

Ordering/Receiving (posters & trailers):

Ordering/Receiving (content): Desmond dropped off the drive for NoBudge Live #30, which will take place on 12/05. There is an event memo for this here I ingested content directly into T2, where this will be taking place. Shorts ingested are as listed below:
Deerwoods Deathtrap
Secret_Gold&Mud
Limerence
Love Liz
Tyler Works
Penn
Filling Holes
Critics
Fly on the Wall
Premium Pornography
Fried Shrimp

Outgoing/Shipping (content):

Print/video Inspection: The Hidden needs to be reinspected/packaged. Hook can be inspected.

Asset tracking doc updated/checked?: Yes

Maintenance/cleaning: In his last blog, Will had mentioned that he bought zip ties off Amazon, but as I mentioned in a previous blog, I actually had ordered us some already. They came in today because the first delivery attempt was unsuccessful. We're going to have a lot of zip ties now, but that's a good thing!
I am on contact with Boston Light & Sound for good quality test film (loops). They are wonderful and perhaps one of the few remaining spots to rely on for test film *frowns* in the USA, that is. If you ever need anything like this--ask them.

Also, just want to mention again that it is crucial we keep the gates on projectors closed at all times. Please keep the rectifiers off until 30 min before running a show, or before you run loops/test reels. We want these machines to last. I'll be cleaning on Wednesday morning since there's heavy dust and dirt build up around the shutter and shaft. It's hard to see unless the projector is running.

Cue sheets updated/checked (every shift):

Marquee updated?:

Posters updated?:

Cleaning lights on for the night?:

Projection cart by entrance?: I brought the cart back down to the pick-up area.
