Projection Admin 12/09



To do this evening/ was completed: Friendly reminder that we will be having a cinema meeting next Thursday, the 15th, at noon! Let us know if you can make it... 

Also, I have a friend up in Boston who could potentially give us some 70mm machinery. 

Presentation Issues:

Preshow Clips/Playlist: Avatar: The Way of Water came through from Deluxe, though we don't have the kdm yet. I ingested the CCAP and OCAP. Ingested the 5.1 first, then the 7.1 and deleted the 5.1. 

Downloaded and ingested new preshow content from Kat:

Our 12/16 playlists can be built, though the Avatar and some SE event playlists will need their cues adjusted w/credits offset info. 

I adjusted the A Christmas Story playlist with its house lights up cue for credits and adjusted the cue sheet. 

I added the house lights up cue to Silent Night/Deadly Night in the playlist. 

Trailer Updates:

Special Events/ AV set up: Alec got the World Cup up in Trees, I took it down. Alec also added a cubbies of supplies along with a key to the AV box that now lives in the storage closet in Trees.

Print/video Inspection: I ran two reels (1 & 2) of Jackie Brown for Cristina this morning and it looks/sounds great. Volume for both processors is marked on the notecard. This print had its countdown marked as 'SMPTE' when it's actually a mix of Academy and SMPTE. I noticed this when threading up the second reel. Just a reminder that you always have to check each reel to make sure all the countdowns are accurate. 

Asset tracking doc updated/checked?: 

John sent the tracking info for Menace II Society and I added it to the Asset document. 

Maintenance/cleaning: We will be receiving cores, a split reel and some plastic shipping reels soon. Talked to Juan about our plans to put up a few pegs to suspend and properly store our plastic reels and so forth.  

Cue sheets updated/checked (every shift): I got the credits offset for Christmas Story, Jackie Brown, Silent Night/Deadly Night, & Batman Returns! 

Marquee updated?: Avatar will be added next Wednesday!

I scheduled those shows just a minute or two after their real start time to get the content transferred, just FYI. Started building the cue sheets as well. Got the first three days done. Projection Admin (and Close) 10/19

To do this evening/ was completed: Real quick - It was a great day! For tonight, I've let MOD know that, since I'm more comfortable staying until most of the last round starts (due to some funky server issues we've been having), I'm going to go see a movie in T2 and can silently text with them if they need anything or should anything go wrong (knocking on wood).  Extremely thrilled to say that all three NewFest shows went very well this morning/afternoon. It was definitely a bit of a magic trick with some overlapping intros/Q&As but having my personal ROS helped so much. Thank you to Desmond, NewFest rockstar.  Desmond and I double checked all shows before doors. Gaffed the wired mics and tested everything. Since one guest for the q&a in T2 wasn't comfortable with the chairs, we swapped our directors chairs for the ones in the bar, which still worked super well with the slides and spots.  Had to ride the mic in trees a bit since everyone's got a differen...

NPP Projection Report 4/6 Open

To do this evening/ was completed: Theater 3 issue happened again, Carly radioed me that the second round preshow didn't start. I was able to restart the projector and put the preshow on about 12 minutes before lights down. Trailers/feature played fine after that. I wrote again to DMS and Jerry said he'll have a list of parts to replace on Monday. For the sake of clarity, here is everything I've gathered about this issue: -When it happens, you won't be able to control playback via the TMS, manually fire automation cues, or access the IMS web GUI at all -Schedules for Theater 3 will display as "KDM missing" and the storage health icon on the Overview page will say "Storage degraded," even though the storage is healthy and KDMs have been uploaded and are active. -This issue prevents the server from validating KDMs (even though they are there and valid), so encrypted content will not play with the server in this state.
