Projection Admin 1/30 Lillian & Will



To do this evening/ was completed: While updating and running through the NoBudge playlist for this evening, I noticed the image flickering pretty heavily. For posterity, I tested different slides/preshow content, checked the lights in the theatre and in the booth before changing out the bulb. I did notice one booth light struggling a bit, but then it stopped. Whilst this was a good time for the bulb to get changed-and it did help to stabilize the flickering-things could still be improved upon. The flickering is still there, just not as super noticeable. Alec mentioned that DMS did work on this in the past, but were pretty stumped, and wound up changing the ballast. I checked in on the lens/shutter mechanisms and noticed a slight strain when switching them, but I'm not sure what's really at play here. To my knowledge, ballasts shouldn't have to be replaced much, but one thing we should consider is that the projector is basically on the floor, and for many reasons, that can tamper with it, too. 

Presentation Issues: I've asked Jack to keep an eye on the lights in T1 this evening, just to be sure. 

Preshow Clips/Playlist: Need: Playlists built for upcoming week. A little while ago we got Audition and Assault on Precinct 13th, which are available in the TMS. These screen soon: 2/6 + 2/7. 

Downloaded new keys for Broker and Skinamarink. Keep an eye out for more KDMs this evening! 

Knock at the Cabin will need to be techd as soon as the key order comes thru. (Opens Thursday!)

Trailer Updates:

Special Events/ AV set up: NoBudge is all set for this evening. I went through the playlist after swapping the bulb to make sure all cues were good to go. They will need one wireless mic for the intro and 4 for the Q&A. Event Memo here

For the private event on 2.21.23, the tech date will be Tuesday, 2/7. (Chenelle is confirming this with the host, but this probably won't change). McKegg, I tagged you in this! You'll be working the event. Alec n Jack, you're also tagged for tech. 

Ordering/Receiving (posters & trailers):

Ordering/Receiving (content): We received a CRU drive of Hard Day's Night today, which has been ingested in T2. Thanks, Will!

Outgoing/Shipping (content): Chris at Park Circus gave us the green light to ship Animatrix back with Dreamcatcher, same as it came to us. Animatrix is actually (kind of) part of the Dreamcatcher show, or it could be. Jack will put this on a house reel so the programmers can take a look at it. 

Will made the label for the single reel of AI to be shipped back to Frank Heller. This will be getting picked up some time today. 

Print/video Inspection: I'll be running reels 3 & 4 of Dreamcatcher for Cristina on Friday at 11am. 

Jack and Jill was delivered today  (and after much searching, was discovered in the chef's office) and Will started inspection pronto so we can tech tomorrow. Thanks, Will! There is a trailer attached to the head of reel 1 (Arthur Christmas). We've tagged Cristina in the report. 

Asset tracking doc updated/checked?:

Maintenance/cleaning: We'll be receiving our new SSDs for T7 on Friday, 2/3. Please leave tab of tracking info up on 4/6 comp. Thanks!

Spoke to Roger about the issues with SRD in T1. We'll be discussing more/a potential visit and equipment update on Thursday, when he's next available.

To do this evening/ was completed:v Mandy ingested to T1. Reached out to Vision for new posters. Was placed on hold, which was more an unending cycle of pressing 1 for hold and then being told to press 0 for voicemail or 1 for hold. Point being I left a voicemail requesting new posters. Gave them our account number, location and my cell. Outgoing marquee letters taken down. 11/10 playlists and forecasts deleted, Chicken Run V2 and Christmas Action trailers downloaded and ingested, 11/24 A1 playlists and packs built. NPP Projection Report 4/6 Open

To do this evening/ was completed: Theater 3 issue happened again, Carly radioed me that the second round preshow didn't start. I was able to restart the projector and put the preshow on about 12 minutes before lights down. Trailers/feature played fine after that. I wrote again to DMS and Jerry said he'll have a list of parts to replace on Monday. For the sake of clarity, here is everything I've gathered about this issue: -When it happens, you won't be able to control playback via the TMS, manually fire automation cues, or access the IMS web GUI at all -Schedules for Theater 3 will display as "KDM missing" and the storage health icon on the Overview page will say "Storage degraded," even though the storage is healthy and KDMs have been uploaded and are active. -This issue prevents the server from validating KDMs (even though they are there and valid), so encrypted content will not play with the server in this state. To do this evening/ was completed: Hey all. Thanks for the Christmas coverage and for quickly hopping on board to accompany Alec while he's out for a little while - I really appreciate it. We've just about got our schedule sorted, so please remember to take a look to see the changes made.  Presentation Issues: Preshow Clips/Playlist: Double checked that T6 and T6 specific playlists are all set.  Tomorrow! Please get your eyes on When Harry Met Sally just to check sound/image and credits info. Screens this Saturday/Sunday but the keys open up tomorrow. I adjusted the playlist based on the ingest letter (and looked it up online, but the offset is a little different, so you'll want to make sure!) Thanks!
