Projection Admin 2/24



To do this evening/ was completed: Alec and I tech'd the Closing Nite portion of NSF '23. Volume and/or any other adjustments have been added to the tech sheet. Please remember to put this information for festivals on the official tech sheet so that we know where it is. 

 Alec ran Fatal Attraction in T1, I ran Private Parts in T4. Volume has been noted. 

Bowling 4 Eva is converting to DCP, should finish around 7-7:30.

Presentation Issues:

Preshow Clips/Playlist: Started downloading the NSF preshow to the DCPII drive. 

Forecasts 0303 are taking a little while to download. 
Please download j2c file again for 25min NSF'23 preshow.
please download 5min preshow for nsf'23. 15min preshow is all set. 

Tech'd Johnny Guitar in T3 with John. Adjusted the playlist with correct volume/masking. 

Trailer Updates:

Special Events/ AV set up: Update on Persepolis! I'm glad I still have these screen shots I took yesterday. So, Alec mentioned to me today that he ripped the file again just checking the box for the first file (same as I did yesterday), but there's one change he made in Handbrake as opposed to MakeMKV that actually shows the subs. After setting the subtitles to English, you want to make sure that you only click 'Burned In', whereas I had it set to 'both Forced' and 'Burned In.' Here's the thing: Handbrake will default it to both, so just make sure to only check 'Burned In' if you need subs. You can preview this using the Preview feature at the top right of the page, which will give you about a 15 sec preview to check there's subs.

We get the keys to Scarface on 3/2. 

Attack the Block DCP came, it's ingesting to T3. Sony will pick up their print next week.

Print/video Inspection: Started re-inspection for Dreamcatcher. I've done the Animatrix reel, plus reels 1 & 2 of the feature. Reels 3 - 7 need to be reinspected.

Maintenance/cleaning: Re: T4 issue last night ~ When it comes to the dowser/heat shield mechanism, there's a small clasp that's supposed to hold the pin in place when you shut it. The sides of the clasp needed to be tightened. First image is what this looks like when it's closed, second image is what it looks like when open. This tiny little apparatus can be a bit flimsy, but we should also be gentle when we go to use it.

To do this evening/ was completed: Hey all! Well, we're just about there! Barbenheimer starts tomorrow. Alec and I ran the print this morning as a dress rehearsal to check image/sound and to give our lovely staff a first look. The print looks really beautiful and I'm very excited for this run. We'll get our eyes on the DCP tomorrow to compare sound, though we're almost certain the loud, static noises that occur during scenes of explosions or closeups of nuclear particles are intentional.  I want to share with everyone a document I've whipped up called Housekeeping Notes for the Projectionist: Plattering Oppenheimer. NPP Projection 11/17 Close

To do this evening/ was completed:v Mandy ingested to T1. Reached out to Vision for new posters. Was placed on hold, which was more an unending cycle of pressing 1 for hold and then being told to press 0 for voicemail or 1 for hold. Point being I left a voicemail requesting new posters. Gave them our account number, location and my cell. Outgoing marquee letters taken down. 11/10 playlists and forecasts deleted, Chicken Run V2 and Christmas Action trailers downloaded and ingested, 11/24 A1 playlists and packs built. Inspected Raising Cain print. It's in good condition, minimal scratching, no splices. Inspection sheet filled out. Transferred Marvels content to T6, as it was missing from the server due to the 1:20 tomorrow being a manual start.
