NPP Projection Report 3/11 Open + OSCARS NOTES


To do this evening/ was completed: IMPORTANT NOTE: Tomorrow morning is daylight savings (spring forward), and for some inexplicable reason whenever the clocks go forward or back the TMS moves all scheduled shows an hour ahead or backward to "compensate" for the time change. I moved all schedules for tomorrow through Thursday an hour early, so when the TMS moves them an hour ahead when clocks go forward, they'll be scheduled for the correct time. This has happened every year so it will be fine, but please double check the schedule to make sure everything tomorrow through Thursday is scheduled at the correct time. At least this is supposed to be the last daylight savings time change, thankfully.

Presentation Issues:

Preshow Clips/Playlist: Switched PG-13 playlists for Thursday 3/16 to the new 3/17 versions on the schedule, so the Shazam trailer doesn't play.

The Ghibli preshow clips did not upload fully, 25min is missing audio (and has extra pkl & cpl files), 15min and 5min are missing both video and audio.

When checking special event playlists I noticed we never actually got the credit offset for Five Devils. This will need to be checked, along with the volume for the video intro (added to the playlist), before Wednesday. Also not sure if there is a Q&A for this event? There is a slide listed for a Q&A in the trailer list but only an intro is mentioned in the event memo. Right now, there's no Q&A slide in the playlist, just the intro slide and video intro.

No lights up cue in the 65 playlists, I added it.

Trailer Updates:

Special Events/ AV set up: I set up the mics/mixer and the spotlight control board in Theater 1 for the Oscars tomorrow. Things just need to be turned on and levels for the mics checked. To project live TV in the theater, simply use the Blu-Ray flat channel, the connection is all set up from 4/6. Once you have that channel on the projector selected, you'll get sound through the Digital 1 input. Note: I removed the power strip that the moving spotlights were plugged into. Since there's the breaker for that outlet, it was serving no real purpose. The breaker is OFF right now, it will need to be turned on for the Oscars party tomorrow night.

We'll also have the red carpet and ceremony on in Trees. To project this with sound, use the laptop. I have both the E! live stream (for the red carpet 5-6:30) and the ABC live stream (for the ceremony at 6:30) open and signed into our Verizon account. E! is open on Safari and ABC is open on Chrome. If E! gets signed out, click "Link TV Provider," then Verizon, our username and password are saved. If ABC gets signed out, go to "Log In" at the top of the page, then "Link TV Provider." Then select Verizon on the popup and it should log in automatically. If you hover over "Log In" on the ABC live stream page and see the two options "Log Into Account" and "Manage TV Provider," you don't need to do anything, the Verizon account is already connected. The first option refers to an account specifically for ABC, which you don't need in order to stream live TV. If you need it, our Verizon login info is NitehawkCinema (username) and 136Metro (password). Both streams are muted, so be sure to unmute them before putting them on. Though there is a DJ set at 5:30, so we won't want to have the red carpet sound on during that. In fact we might want to just leave the sound off for the red carpet entirely, and just have it on for the ceremony. I grabbed the other AJA and connected it to the DJ1 input in 4/6 (for the Trees projector), in case it’s easier to use Digital Link (no sound) for the red carpet and switch to the laptop in Trees for the ceremony with sound, you’d just have to remember to change the channel to ABC on the Verizon box at 6:30 for the theater.
