NPP Projection Report 5/28 Open

To do this evening/ was completed: I've been noticing for a while that we have to crank the volume on Mono prints in Theater 1, most recently evidenced by The Apple, which landed at 9.5/10. I went into the CP500 settings and increased the Mono Level Trim from -6dB to -5dB. I know we open early tomorrow, but if there's time we might want to run a bit of Nighthawks to check the volume again. If there's no time it won't be a very big deal, I'd just start at 7.0 on both processors as opposed to 8.0 and go from there. Looking like it won't be a huge crowd for this one.

Presentation Issues:

Preshow Clips/Playlist: Built a Hawks w/ Babies playlist for the 3:30 Guardians on Tuesday and replaced the regular one which was scheduled. Take a look at this to see how they're built, I made a separate trailer pack, too, so the lights only go down to "Mid" and the trailers won't play as loudly. We should build this along with the other first run playlists for the week and schedule it when we get the show schedule, along with OCAP screenings. Please don't schedule regular playlists in place of OCAP and Babies ones, so we don't have to go back and adjust the schedule after it's been made.

Added the Spider-Verse feature to the playlist and scheduled it for Thursday. Heads up there's a few trailers we should check for volume in this playlist.

Trailer Updates:

Special Events/ AV set up: Harriet went pretty well, though I briefly had to stop the show at the top of reel 4 since the handle came loose and the heat shield would not open (projector 1). I turned the lamp off, opened the lamphouse, and opened the heat shield by (protected) hand. Started again right away (had left the processor muted while the film was stopped, so audio returned to the theater a few seconds later). The clasp that holds the heat shield shut was positioned so that you had to use too much force to open it with the handle, thus the set screw that holds the handle to the heat shield allowing you to open it kept coming loose when we would pull on the handle--I was having to tighten that set screw every so often. I retightened the set screw and re-adjusted the clasp, should be alright now.

Noticed the opposite thing on projector 2 before the screening, where the clasp was positioned so that the heat shield would open too easily, adjusted this as well.

Print/video Inspection: Re-inspected Harriet and packed it up for return. Pickup has been scheduled for Tuesday (this came with Ground return labels and tomorrow is a holiday). It's on the cart.

Asset tracking doc updated/checked?:

Maintenance/cleaning: One of the CCAP devices is missing from the storage closet, can we keep our eyes peeled for this? Please be sure to collect these from the theater once the feature finishes.

Handed another CCAP device to a guest, which they literally snapped in half at some point during the movie:
So... that's nice... The screw that holds the clamp on snapped and is stuck, not sure how we can get it out.

Cue sheets updated/checked (every shift): The cues for Harriet today were quite off, start and end credit times were listed about 10 minutes too early. The brief pause doesn't explain this, film was stopped for only about a minute. Please be very careful inputting special event timing, and consider all the factors: trailers, intros (especially brunch screenings where one has an intro and the other doesn't), anything in addition to the feature we might be showing (such as the Hey Arnold short from today). This goes for both DCP and 35mm special events, we're always going to have to do some math as we can't rely on the TMS to accurately reflect when a DCP SE show will end if there's an intro and/or Q&A slide that will be paused.

Checked cue sheets for tomorrow, they are all set. Nighthawks timing entered. Start/end credits timing entered for early Spider-Verse shows on Thursday as well.
