Projection Admin 5/26 Long blog. Pls read.
To do this evening/ was completed: Hi everyone. I'm sure y'all saw my email about T1's IMB issue. So, earlier in the week (weds) I noticed there was a warning on the projector 'failure to connect to IMB', so I power-cycled/reseated the board and it was perfectly fine- these things happen, they're not out of the ordinary. However, this happened twice today, where the server went down whilst we were finishing up an all-content tech for The Apple. I wound up getting a hold of Chris from DMS and remoted him in. He checked our diagnostics--all of which are great--but it looks like the projector didn't shut down or turn on properly before (Tuesday evening/Wednesday morning maybe). He also mentioned that it's definitely a good thing to reseat the board more frequently than we're used to since the card cage heats up easily with the Christie model we have in there, so reseating the cables will also prevent that from happening. Everything is stable right now. We did another power-cycle and let it rest for a minute. Anyway, third time's the charm and that did the trick. Keep an eye on this for tonight, please. I'll reseat the board again next week. One thing-- I noticed on the TMS that a lot of the shutdown cues were scheduled super, super close to the last round(s). Some were scheduled two minutes after a show would end and that's cutting it real close. This might've tampered with the projector's cycle. I pushed back the shutdown cues. In addition to this, T5 has two manual starts this Saturday and Sunday, so no shutdown cues were scheduled but I wound up scheduling them for 12:05, which should be fine factoring in turnaround time. We'd advance the playlists anyway...
One more thing to note here: Please remember to check-in with Special Event playlists to see what can get built. We're fine right now, but I don't want us to slip up on this.
Presentation Issues:
Preshow Clips/Playlist: I made two playlists for Harriet the Spy - one with Intro material and another without. Intro playlist has been scheduled for Saturday, the latter has been scheduled for Sunday.
Reached out to Matthew and Jeffrey about the Tuesday OCAP screening of The Master Gardener, which does not have an OCAP version available. Update: We will be running the CCAP version! Cue sheet has been changed.
Trailer Updates:
Special Events/ AV set up: Tech'd the print of The Apple, including Joe's custom preshow content for this show (it's one file and will take up all of preshow for this). We also tech'd the slide w/ spots, which looks great and, as seen on the event memo, he'll need stage left spots, which is already a preset on the board and will be easy to pull up. There are important cues in the playlist for this event, one of which I'll have to double check and add in on Monday since the server issue cut us off a bit (please do not move the notecard by the 4/6 comp that says 'apple preshow' on it!!) Volume is pretty loud for this one, too. Noted on the white card attached to the first reel of the print.
Ordering/Receiving (posters & trailers):
Ordering/Receiving (content): Ingested CCAP and OCAP files of Spiderverse to the TMS
Outgoing/Shipping (content): Scheduled pickups for Driver 23 and The Wedding Banquet, both of which should get taken out today. They're prepped and on the black cart.
Print/video Inspection: The Apple has loads of leader on the first and, from what I can tell, probably all reels. There's framing/threading suggestions on the leader and I'd use the 9 as a first point of reference, but double check once you're settled in the gate and ready to hit the motor. It's easy to get out of frame with this one.
