NPP Projection Close 10/15

To do this evening/ was completed:

Presentation Issues: Carly radioed this evening that the screen was white in between rounds of The Exorcist: Believer in theater 3 (this occurred around 8:15PM) 

I checked on it, noted that the dowser was closed but that light was still getting through, opened and closed it again and, after a few moments of darkness, saw the light pop up

After experimenting with a couple test patterns, trying and failing to close the dowser while these were on screen, stopping them, then trying again to open and close the dowser without any image up but still seeing the light, I concluded that it is probably the dowser itself that needs to be serviced and/or replaced

Note: this was not having any effect on the pre-show or the feature, according to the server in the theater during the prior round (who also mentioned he'd seen something similar happen in between rounds in theater 2 the other day), but I stayed in the auditorium after the start of the next round's pre show to see if there was any light bleeding or distortion to the picture, but could not see anything out of the ordinary



Preshow Clips/Playlist: Downloaded and ingested all "Generic_Scorsese" pre-show content (update: the "25 min" file failed to ingest; reached out to Kat about it) + built Killers of the Flower Moon SPLs for next week (used a generic 5min NPP welcome slide to fill time at the top of the pre-show)

Trailer Updates:

Special Events/ AV set up: All wireless mics were returned to booth 1 following the NewFest screenings this afternoon

I scheduled those shows just a minute or two after their real start time to get the content transferred, just FYI. Started building the cue sheets as well. Got the first three days done. Projection Admin (and Close) 10/19

To do this evening/ was completed: Real quick - It was a great day! For tonight, I've let MOD know that, since I'm more comfortable staying until most of the last round starts (due to some funky server issues we've been having), I'm going to go see a movie in T2 and can silently text with them if they need anything or should anything go wrong (knocking on wood).  Extremely thrilled to say that all three NewFest shows went very well this morning/afternoon. It was definitely a bit of a magic trick with some overlapping intros/Q&As but having my personal ROS helped so much. Thank you to Desmond, NewFest rockstar.  Desmond and I double checked all shows before doors. Gaffed the wired mics and tested everything. Since one guest for the q&a in T2 wasn't comfortable with the chairs, we swapped our directors chairs for the ones in the bar, which still worked super well with the slides and spots.  Had to ride the mic in trees a bit since everyone's got a differen...

NPP Projection Report 4/6 Open

To do this evening/ was completed: Theater 3 issue happened again, Carly radioed me that the second round preshow didn't start. I was able to restart the projector and put the preshow on about 12 minutes before lights down. Trailers/feature played fine after that. I wrote again to DMS and Jerry said he'll have a list of parts to replace on Monday. For the sake of clarity, here is everything I've gathered about this issue: -When it happens, you won't be able to control playback via the TMS, manually fire automation cues, or access the IMS web GUI at all -Schedules for Theater 3 will display as "KDM missing" and the storage health icon on the Overview page will say "Storage degraded," even though the storage is healthy and KDMs have been uploaded and are active. -This issue prevents the server from validating KDMs (even though they are there and valid), so encrypted content will not play with the server in this state.
