NPP Projection Report 10/14 Open


To do this evening/ was completed: The 3/7 AC is leaking, very slowly. I put a bucket under to catch the leak so just empty it every so often. I let Matthew know so Palco and come look at it. Checked the AC in the crawlspace by the 7 projector, this one is not leaking.

Presentation Issues:

Preshow Clips/Playlist: Figured out what caused the weird playlist-rewinding-itself issue that happened to Jack and Lillian when going through the NewFest playlists. It happened to me today when I hit the "Next" button (which skips to the next clip in the playlist) to skip to a lens/masking change pack. This won't ever happen when we're just playing through the playlists during shows, but to avoid this when teching playlists always use the "Fast forward" button (which advances through the current clip 3 minutes at a time, but won't skip between clips) to advance to the end of a short which comes before a lens/masking change. When you get to the very end of the short, press play and it should play through the lens/masking change with no problem.

Trailer Updates:

Special Events/ AV set up: Both NewFest screenings went very well! A few notes for the rest of them:
-I labeled the spotlight board with the settings we'll use for the intros and Q&As but they’re all on Bank #2, so hit the “Bank Up” button when you turn on the board. I adjusted the center spots slightly down for the HBO Q&A on Monday, it’s on a different setting/“Scene” than what we’ll use for the others.
-Set up the 4 mics in Theater 3, and the two extra wired mics in Theater 1 for when we’ll need them. I disconnected the XLRs for the wired mics from the Th1 rack, though, so they don't make any noise during intros/Q&As when we're not using them. The cables are resting on top of the CP750.
-For the Spotify playlist during the preshows, I used our laptop for Theater 1 since the wi-fi doesn't work well on the rack PC. Have the NPP account logged in on the laptop, and Desmond's on the 3/7 rack PC. Make sure you let the bartender in Trees know you're using the Spotify account and switch their music to source 8. I added 5 seconds of black to the beginning of today's playlists with a cue to switch the sound to Non-Sync (and raise the volume to 4.0). You can add that to your playlists for the day or just switch to Non-Sync when the preshow starts.

To do this evening/ was completed: Hey all! Well, we're just about there! Barbenheimer starts tomorrow. Alec and I ran the print this morning as a dress rehearsal to check image/sound and to give our lovely staff a first look. The print looks really beautiful and I'm very excited for this run. NPP Projection 11/17 Close

To do this evening/ was completed:v Mandy ingested to T1. Reached out to Vision for new posters. Was placed on hold, which was more an unending cycle of pressing 1 for hold and then being told to press 0 for voicemail or 1 for hold. Point being I left a voicemail requesting new posters. Gave them our account number, location and my cell. Outgoing marquee letters taken down. 11/10 playlists and forecasts deleted, Chicken Run V2 and Christmas Action trailers downloaded and ingested, 11/24 A1 playlists and packs built. Inspected Raising Cain print. It's in good condition, minimal scratching, no splices. Inspection sheet filled out. Transferred Marvels content to T6, as it was missing from the server due to the 1:20 tomorrow being a manual start.
