NPP Projection Admin 1/22

To do this evening/ was completed:

Presentation Issues: None to report in theaters 4 and 6 as these are (thankfully) working just fine and all trailers have played before each feature

A guest here for the opening round complained that the volume was too loud during the pre-show in theater 3. Paul radioed me to double check it but said everything sounded fine to him. I went down and stood in the back of the room while the policy was playing (everything did, in fact, sound fine, this guest was just a little older and seemed to be more sensitive to the levels) when all of a sudden the clip ended and the house lights came back up. I ran to check on the issue from 3/7 as quickly as I could and saw the feature (Origin OCAP) had been ejected. At first I thought it was a keys issue but it did not take long for me to realize that the OCAP file itself was not present on the theater server (which was odd considering it had been scheduled via the IMS but never transferred over). I went up to 4/6 and re-ingested the keys, transferred the OCAP file from the TMS to theater 3, brought the house lights back down, and played the film manually. There was a delay of about 6 minutes to the start of the feature proper and passes were handed out. As to the issue with the volume, no other complaints were made once the film began...

(Update: I spoke to Matthew over the phone about this so he could relay the technical information to DMS)

Preshow Clips/Playlist: Double checked the pre-shows for Taxi Driver and Live Wire and added a volume cue to the SPL for the latter

Trailer Updates:

Special Events/ AV set up: Midnight Run screening this evening in theater 1

Ordering/Receiving (posters & trailers):

Ordering/Receiving (content): Began downloading NSF24 content to the DCPIII drive and converting them to DCP (these can be transferred to the NSF external hard drive which we should be receiving in the coming days)

Outgoing/Shipping (content): Removed all Ferrari feature and pre-show content to clear up space on the servers

Print/video Inspection: Teched the Midnight Run show playlist this afternoon in theater 1 and adjusted the feature volume + added a lights up cue for the crawl; picture looks fine though some of the dialogue gets a little quiet in the mix in some scenes

Asset tracking doc updated/checked?:

Maintenance/cleaning: Cleaned both projectors in theater 1 in anticipation of upcoming film screenings and took note of items needed for booth inventory (alcohol wipes, air dusters, packing tape)

Cue sheets updated/checked (every shift):

Marquee updated?: Removed Ferrari 

Posters updated?: Took down Ferrari and replaced it with Kung Fu Panda 4 under a "coming soon" snipe outside; placed an order for Argylle and Challengers posters

Cleaning lights on for the night?:

Additional Notes: A dowser/shutter part was delivered for repairs to theater 4 in addition to headsets for the projection team (these are on the desk in 4/6)

To do this evening/ was completed:v Mandy ingested to T1. Reached out to Vision for new posters. Was placed on hold, which was more an unending cycle of pressing 1 for hold and then being told to press 0 for voicemail or 1 for hold. Point being I left a voicemail requesting new posters. Gave them our account number, location and my cell. Outgoing marquee letters taken down. 11/10 playlists and forecasts deleted, Chicken Run V2 and Christmas Action trailers downloaded and ingested, 11/24 A1 playlists and packs built. Inspected Raising Cain print. It's in good condition, minimal scratching, no splices. Inspection sheet filled out. NPP Projection Report 4/6 Open

To do this evening/ was completed: Theater 3 issue happened again, Carly radioed me that the second round preshow didn't start. I was able to restart the projector and put the preshow on about 12 minutes before lights down. Trailers/feature played fine after that. I wrote again to DMS and Jerry said he'll have a list of parts to replace on Monday. For the sake of clarity, here is everything I've gathered about this issue: -When it happens, you won't be able to control playback via the TMS, manually fire automation cues, or access the IMS web GUI at all -Schedules for Theater 3 will display as "KDM missing" and the storage health icon on the Overview page will say "Storage degraded," even though the storage is healthy and KDMs have been uploaded and are active. -This issue prevents the server from validating KDMs (even though they are there and valid), so encrypted content will not play with the server in this state. To do this evening/ was completed: Hey all. Thanks for the Christmas coverage and for quickly hopping on board to accompany Alec while he's out for a little while - I really appreciate it. We've just about got our schedule sorted, so please remember to take a look to see the changes made.  Presentation Issues: Preshow Clips/Playlist: Double checked that T6 and T6 specific playlists are all set.  Tomorrow! Please get your eyes on When Harry Met Sally just to check sound/image and credits info. Screens this Saturday/Sunday but the keys open up tomorrow. I adjusted the playlist based on the ingest letter (and looked it up online, but the offset is a little different, so you'll want to make sure!) Thanks!
