Projection Admin 2/5 Lillian (sorry for how long this one is)

To do this evening/ was completed: Big day. Lots of maintenance. I apologize for the length, but it's all (mostly!) good and important stuff, so I appreciate you taking the time to read through. All my notes are in bold. - L

DMS came in this morning to reinstall the projector in T3, replace the servers with IMS3000s in T6 & T7, and finally fix that pesky douser in T4. I got in at 9, as did Colin, but Jerry didn't get in until a little later. Things started around ten, but despite the late start, things went quite well. Colin got a head start on the removal in T3 so we could jump in once Jerry got in.

I reached out to Deluxe as soon as I saw the serial numbers for the new servers so we could get those KDMs as fast as possible. The correct serial numbers now correspond to their respective rooms.

Ingested content has been going just fine in T6. I want to note that, if you look at the interface of the IMS for T6, you'll see a warning that says "storage/data needs assistance" but this is because it's still in the recovery process. You can check in on this by going to the Storage section in Diagnostics. You will notice it's still in the process of reaching 100 percent recovery - right side, highlighted in yellow.

T7 & T3 are running well. We were able to test content and run the alignments for both image and audio/audio delay. Audio delay is not something we were able to do in T6 since we were pressed for time towards the end of it, but content got tested and everything looks/sounds great. We can double check this tomorrow morning. I ran through multiple cues. We no longer need to use the NoGPO pack.

Speaking of no longer needing to use specific packs, we can use regular playlists in T4, too. The new douser was put on. I help Jerry with this a little. Everything is working well. No issues so far, but please keep an eye on this as the evening progresses.

I checked out the Subwoofer (LFE) in T1 today as per Will's note from last night. I fiddled with the amp (quick hack to just wiggle the dial(s) to see if that helps. Could be dust in there), ran the test and nothing changed, so I brought the level down from 7.4 to around ~ 4., and while 3 DBs less sounded better, the real issue seems to be the speakers. So, there's two subs: bottom sub - one of the speakers in that cabinet is totally ripped and I didn't hear any sound coming out of it. The one above it behind the screen is the one I could hear. I didn't notice any ripped cones on the upper cabinet, but it's hard to tell. Maybe the sharing of the channel (sharing the amp channel with the lower one?) that could be what's causing distress and it's just simply overworked. Either way, we'll definitely need this checked out, but for now, the level is much lower and shouldn't be a major distraction. Alec, if you want to get your eyes on this tomorrow for a second opinion, that'd be awesome. Update: someone said the trailer for Dune II was too loud, but Poor Things feature sounded good. Trailer volume can be lowered.

I'm sending out a follow up email to DMS.

In other news, they are building (what I believe to be a Chipotle, next door) and the drilling caused some disturbance in T3 during first round. The good news is that they're almost, almost done. I went over to talk to their project supervisor to see if we could come to some kind of arrangement. Seems like they'll be working from 7am to 3pm-ish (their permit runs til 6pm), most days, finishing the wall drilling by Thursday. Their maintenance will be going on for the next two months, though...I put Matthew and Paul in touch with their supervisor.

For T5 first round today (zone of interest), I took out two closed captioning devices for seats 204/203. Please put these back and on charge once the film is over. Thank you.

Presentation Issues: Subwoofer was rattling again during the trailers in theater 1 (volume for Dune 2 was brought down); continuing to keep an eye and ear on this throughout feature playback -WB

Preshow Clips/Playlist: Kat sent the new forecasts, so please build start building the new playlists this evening. (update: forecasts were downloaded and ingested to the TMS from the Preshow drive -WB)

Trailer Updates:

Special Events/ AV set up: NoBudge is ready for this evening. Note: there will be NO wash for the intro/q&a. I looked at the blue this morning and it was overpowering the already very blue slide. I reached out to Desmond and he prefers no wash, but we can try orange next time! So, just centre spots for both the intro and q&a! I updated the event memo. No chairs. 1 mic for the intro, 4 mics for the q&a.

Ordering/Receiving (posters & trailers):

Ordering/Receiving (content): I had Will put the finished DCP of Superbad onto a drive for ingest (it is currently copying over to DCPII in booth 1 -WB)

I downloaded the new holding slide DCP for NewFestxHBO. It's on the desktop (SortOfIntro). Please ingest this.
