NPP Projection Close 7/29



To do this evening/ was completed: Galaxy Quest and Ghost Dog features ingested to TMS.

Pet Sematary II screening went smoothly. Print has been rewound and will be prepared for outgoing tomorrow.

Started scheduling upcoming week in TMS.

Presentation Issues: T2, round 1 Twisters: at the beginning of the feature MOD/runners notified me that the curtains had not opened up for the feature and that there was a ton of bleed. I hit the masking cues on the TMS and IMS pages to no result, so I went behind the curtain and saw that the masking motor was not on. I hit the power switch on the motor to no result and then attempted to see if a power cable was disconnected somewhere, which was very hard to do because there was a ton of insulation padding on top of all the cables and the equipment box. After a few minutes I gave up (upon inhaling some dust, which I'm not pleased about) and switched over to the 1.85 channel on the Christie and let the film play letterboxed. I was not able to further investigate the issue after Twisters concluded because the 35mm was just starting. Wyatt went to investigate and we talked on the walkie for a bit, but he couldn't power the motor back on, so I ran Longlegs in 1.85 too.

I scheduled those shows just a minute or two after their real start time to get the content transferred, just FYI. Started building the cue sheets as well. Got the first three days done. Projection Admin (and Close) 10/19

To do this evening/ was completed: Real quick - It was a great day! For tonight, I've let MOD know that, since I'm more comfortable staying until most of the last round starts (due to some funky server issues we've been having), I'm going to go see a movie in T2 and can silently text with them if they need anything or should anything go wrong (knocking on wood).  Extremely thrilled to say that all three NewFest shows went very well this morning/afternoon. It was definitely a bit of a magic trick with some overlapping intros/Q&As but having my personal ROS helped so much. Thank you to Desmond, NewFest rockstar.  Desmond and I double checked all shows before doors. Gaffed the wired mics and tested everything. Since one guest for the q&a in T2 wasn't comfortable with the chairs, we swapped our directors chairs for the ones in the bar, which still worked super well with the slides and spots.  Had to ride the mic in trees a bit since everyone's got a differen...

NPP Projection Report 4/6 Open

To do this evening/ was completed: Theater 3 issue happened again, Carly radioed me that the second round preshow didn't start. I was able to restart the projector and put the preshow on about 12 minutes before lights down. Trailers/feature played fine after that. I wrote again to DMS and Jerry said he'll have a list of parts to replace on Monday. For the sake of clarity, here is everything I've gathered about this issue: -When it happens, you won't be able to control playback via the TMS, manually fire automation cues, or access the IMS web GUI at all -Schedules for Theater 3 will display as "KDM missing" and the storage health icon on the Overview page will say "Storage degraded," even though the storage is healthy and KDMs have been uploaded and are active. -This issue prevents the server from validating KDMs (even though they are there and valid), so encrypted content will not play with the server in this state.
