NPP Projection Close 8/6



To do this evening/ was completed: My return to a Tuesday closing shift here was a busy one with a couple events and some technical things that added extra wrenches here. But it all got sorted out in the end. 

Presentation Issues: When I was setting up trivia, Shay's laptop audio wasn't coming on. No problem, just have to turn the volume up on the projector: only the volume bar wasn't showing up onscreen. This was on other video inputs as well. Whenever I pressed it on the remote the image would go in and out onscreen. I ended up having to grab a ladder and manually press the volume button on the projector. It worked, but the volume bar still didn't show up. 

Jared walkie'd me saying that the table lights in Theater 1 were off. I went to turn them back on and they started flickering off and on. I turned it back on and off again and it seemed to return to normal. 

Preshow Clips/Playlist: I built the playlist out for the It Ends With You Babies screening next Tuesday. 

Trailer Updates:

Special Events/ AV set up: The Blade Runner event in Theater 1 went relatively smooth. Intro was quick, though Cristina noted the intro slide was not ideal for the intro in question since it promoted our book as opposed to the intro host's book that we were selling in the lobby. 

My return to trivia hit a bit of a snag with the whole volume issue, but other than that it was a welcome and smooth setup and breakdown. 

Ordering/Receiving (posters & trailers):

Ordering/Receiving (content): I adjusted the audio levels for Magnolia and started the conversion for the DCP,  which is reportedly going to take a whopping 36 hours. 

Outgoing/Shipping (content):

Print/video Inspection: I took a look at all of Angel tonight. It's a teensy bit faded with emulsion and base scratches all over, but the image is still good despite that. I want to give a head's up on the countdowns on the last two reels are short, so I would look at those over this week before showtime. It's on house reels fully rewound and in Theater 4. 

Asset tracking doc updated/checked?: Yes

Maintenance/cleaning:

Cue sheets updated/checked (every shift): I scheduled automation for the rest of next week apart from all of Theater 6. 

Tomorrow's cue sheets cross referenced with automation and set.

To do this evening/ was completed:v Mandy ingested to T1. Reached out to Vision for new posters. Was placed on hold, which was more an unending cycle of pressing 1 for hold and then being told to press 0 for voicemail or 1 for hold. Point being I left a voicemail requesting new posters. Gave them our account number, location and my cell. Outgoing marquee letters taken down. 11/10 playlists and forecasts deleted, Chicken Run V2 and Christmas Action trailers downloaded and ingested, 11/24 A1 playlists and packs built. Inspected Raising Cain print. It's in good condition, minimal scratching, no splices. Inspection sheet filled out. Transferred Marvels content to T6, as it was missing from the server due to the 1:20 tomorrow being a manual start. NPP Projection Report 4/6 Open

To do this evening/ was completed: Theater 3 issue happened again, Carly radioed me that the second round preshow didn't start. I was able to restart the projector and put the preshow on about 12 minutes before lights down. Trailers/feature played fine after that. I wrote again to DMS and Jerry said he'll have a list of parts to replace on Monday. For the sake of clarity, here is everything I've gathered about this issue: -When it happens, you won't be able to control playback via the TMS, manually fire automation cues, or access the IMS web GUI at all -Schedules for Theater 3 will display as "KDM missing" and the storage health icon on the Overview page will say "Storage degraded," even though the storage is healthy and KDMs have been uploaded and are active. -This issue prevents the server from validating KDMs (even though they are there and valid), so encrypted content will not play with the server in this state. To do this evening/ was completed: Hey all. Thanks for the Christmas coverage and for quickly hopping on board to accompany Alec while he's out for a little while - I really appreciate it. We've just about got our schedule sorted, so please remember to take a look to see the changes made.  Presentation Issues: Preshow Clips/Playlist: Double checked that T6 and T6 specific playlists are all set.  Tomorrow! Please get your eyes on When Harry Met Sally just to check sound/image and credits info. Screens this Saturday/Sunday but the keys open up tomorrow. I adjusted the playlist based on the ingest letter (and looked it up online, but the offset is a little different, so you'll want to make sure!) Thanks!
