Projection Admin 9/10



To do this evening/ was completed: TMS scheduled for the coming week. Playlists built for Speak No Evil and Cry Baby. 

Ran a reel of Cry Baby for Desmond, volume logged.

Frame and focus set for Madam Satan tonight, projectors cleaned afterward.

NoBudge went smoothly last evening. Mics returned to the booth.

Maintenance/cleaning: Some simple maintenance in Theater 3 turned into a bit of an ordeal, but all is just fine now. I opened the projector to clean the plastic lamp blower duct on the back of the lamp door and when I powered the projector back on got an error about the PIB connection being lost. Power cycled the projector again and then got errors about firmware mismatches with the PIB and the projector would not power on, it just kept cycling through the process of powering up over and over. After reseating the boards with no luck, I contacted Jerry who suggested reseating the TPC cable and then the boards again, which I did with no luck. He said if this didn't work he would try getting a replacement PIB sent over but I remembered we had a spare, which I put in and which thankfully worked. The projector powered on with no problem. Speaking to Jerry/Matthew about ordering another replacement PIB to have on hand. -Alec

Replaced the air intake filter in the Theater 5 Christie. -Alec

Checked the Trees Lounge projector after Lillian's notes today. It's all fine, a small switch on the HDMI splitter up by the Apple TV had been moved to the wrong spot. I sent an email to everyone about this, but the switch is I think for how the splitter processes the image format from the source out to the monitors/projector. This switch should be on "Copy" and not "Auto." Again, I sent an email to the projection group about this with pictures. -Alec

Went up to booth 2 after the construction crew finished for the day and dusted off the projector, opened the lamp door and cleaned dust out of there, and cleaned the lens, zoom mechanism, and port glass. -Alec

Unpacked the order of Kimtech wipes and placed some boxes in all the booths. Placed an order for more alcohol wipes. -Alec

Cue sheets updated/checked (every shift): Cue sheets for next week are set barring the timing for The Substance and Transformers One, which still need to be added to it. 

Nathaniel walkie'd me noting that the addition matinees of AfrAId that Sony bullied us into adding were not on the cue sheets, so I added the rest of those in as well.

To do this evening/ was completed:v Mandy ingested to T1. Reached out to Vision for new posters. Was placed on hold, which was more an unending cycle of pressing 1 for hold and then being told to press 0 for voicemail or 1 for hold. Point being I left a voicemail requesting new posters. Gave them our account number, location and my cell. Outgoing marquee letters taken down. 11/10 playlists and forecasts deleted, Chicken Run V2 and Christmas Action trailers downloaded and ingested, 11/24 A1 playlists and packs built. Inspected Raising Cain print. It's in good condition, minimal scratching, no splices. Inspection sheet filled out. Transferred Marvels content to T6, as it was missing from the server due to the 1:20 tomorrow being a manual start. NPP Projection Report 4/6 Open

To do this evening/ was completed: Theater 3 issue happened again, Carly radioed me that the second round preshow didn't start. I was able to restart the projector and put the preshow on about 12 minutes before lights down. Trailers/feature played fine after that. I wrote again to DMS and Jerry said he'll have a list of parts to replace on Monday. For the sake of clarity, here is everything I've gathered about this issue: -When it happens, you won't be able to control playback via the TMS, manually fire automation cues, or access the IMS web GUI at all -Schedules for Theater 3 will display as "KDM missing" and the storage health icon on the Overview page will say "Storage degraded," even though the storage is healthy and KDMs have been uploaded and are active. -This issue prevents the server from validating KDMs (even though they are there and valid), so encrypted content will not play with the server in this state. To do this evening/ was completed: Hey all. Thanks for the Christmas coverage and for quickly hopping on board to accompany Alec while he's out for a little while - I really appreciate it. We've just about got our schedule sorted, so please remember to take a look to see the changes made.  Presentation Issues: Preshow Clips/Playlist: Double checked that T6 and T6 specific playlists are all set.  Tomorrow! Please get your eyes on When Harry Met Sally just to check sound/image and credits info. Screens this Saturday/Sunday but the keys open up tomorrow. I adjusted the playlist based on the ingest letter (and looked it up online, but the offset is a little different, so you'll want to make sure!) Thanks!
