Projection Admin 11/14



To do this evening/ was completed: I'll be meeting Gregg from DMS here at 9am tomorrow morning to try and solve some the issues we're having with the loan projector in T2. Hopefully we can fix what we need to, but at the very least, we'll need to make sure we're alright for La Strada this weekend.  I checked on the projector early this morning, and no one had been in the booth, but Juan also confirmed that, instead, they will be working in there tomorrow morning, very early. They know to turn the exhaust off. It will not be sandy/dusty work. 

Presentation Issues:

Preshow Clips/Playlist: Updated the playlist for A Real Pain. Just brought the volume up a bit. 

Trailer Updates:

Special Events/ AV set up: I know this got techd earlier in the week, but I'm glad I took a look at the film today as the masking for 1.37 wasn't set for the film. It's tricky, too, because it's 1.37 in 1.85, which can be hard to get even in general, and both projectors require different adjustments for masking. I went back and forth running film on both, fixing the port glass tape and setting the masking in the theatre. Very happy with where I got it for tonight. Updated automation cue for (this version) of 1.37 masking is saved. Playlist is all set. Film is rewound. Should be a great show.

The DCP of The Boy and The Heron is still transcoding in T1. Keep an eye on it. 

Ordering/Receiving (posters & trailers):

Ordering/Receiving (content): Ingested Sugarcane direct to T4. Ingested The Pit to T3. 

Coordinating/in contact with Vito for the Ovid drop-off. 

Outgoing/Shipping (content): Made labels for The Bad Seed and brought the print down to the pick up area. It's on its way out tonight. 

Print/video Inspection: Sent the print report to Brian for Fire Walk with Me. 

Asset tracking doc updated/checked?:

Maintenance/cleaning: 

Cue sheets updated/checked (every shift): Yes

Marquee updated?: Yes! Outgoing titles down, new title of A Real Pain up. 

Posters updated?: Added Wicked to an outside poster case with a coming soon banner, added a now showing banner to A Real Pain. In the lobby, I took down the Wicked poster and put up Queer with a coming soon banner. I also noticed that the metal switch that secures the case (when you lock it) was super bent on the top, so I brought the hammer down and gently reshaped it back to normal. I checked other poster cases and fixed a few spots that needed it. Also, we are missing a horrendous amount of poster keys, so please check your bags, pants, coat pockets and coffee tables for any missing keys. I will make more copies. 

Received a Captain America poster.

I scheduled those shows just a minute or two after their real start time to get the content transferred, just FYI. Started building the cue sheets as well. Got the first three days done. Projection Admin (and Close) 10/19

To do this evening/ was completed: Real quick - It was a great day! For tonight, I've let MOD know that, since I'm more comfortable staying until most of the last round starts (due to some funky server issues we've been having), I'm going to go see a movie in T2 and can silently text with them if they need anything or should anything go wrong (knocking on wood).  Extremely thrilled to say that all three NewFest shows went very well this morning/afternoon. It was definitely a bit of a magic trick with some overlapping intros/Q&As but having my personal ROS helped so much. Thank you to Desmond, NewFest rockstar.  Desmond and I double checked all shows before doors. Gaffed the wired mics and tested everything. Since one guest for the q&a in T2 wasn't comfortable with the chairs, we swapped our directors chairs for the ones in the bar, which still worked super well with the slides and spots.  Had to ride the mic in trees a bit since everyone's got a differen...

NPP Projection Report 4/6 Open

To do this evening/ was completed: Theater 3 issue happened again, Carly radioed me that the second round preshow didn't start. I was able to restart the projector and put the preshow on about 12 minutes before lights down. Trailers/feature played fine after that. I wrote again to DMS and Jerry said he'll have a list of parts to replace on Monday. For the sake of clarity, here is everything I've gathered about this issue: -When it happens, you won't be able to control playback via the TMS, manually fire automation cues, or access the IMS web GUI at all -Schedules for Theater 3 will display as "KDM missing" and the storage health icon on the Overview page will say "Storage degraded," even though the storage is healthy and KDMs have been uploaded and are active. -This issue prevents the server from validating KDMs (even though they are there and valid), so encrypted content will not play with the server in this state.
