NPP Projection Close 12/7/24



To do this evening/ was completed: A quiet night apart from one VI device in my first round, some Plex updating, and playing around a bit with Screenwriter. Lent one of our extension cords to MOD for the event tonight, but still needs to be tracked down. 

Presentation Issues: While loading some new content to the Plex servers, I faced some particularly tough moments where when it was scanning for new content it would freeze up and I had to restart it a few more times. After a while and once I got it back up and running, I decided to leave it alone. 

Preshow Clips/Playlist: As I was looking at automation, I played around with building a Sundays on Fire playlist to get acquainted with the Screenwriter setup. I did not schedule this new playlist with the one that was already made for tomorrow. 

Trailer Updates:

Special Events/ AV set up: The event in Trees went smooth outside of the Plex going in and out, but finally had it going. MOD borrowed one of our extension cords, which I tried to track down after the event, but was unable to find it. I was told to check in with Raekwon or Jeremy, who had already left. 

Ordering/Receiving (posters & trailers):

Ordering/Receiving (content): I added a bunch of the content I put in Williamsburg Plex servers onto the NPP servers. It took a little more finagling than at NWB, but there's at least some new content on there.

Cue sheets updated/checked (every shift): Cross referenced with tomorrow's automation which is good because the Sundays on Fire playlist hadn't been scheduled yet.

To do this evening/ was completed: Scheduled 1/3 - 1/9 in LMS. A few manual starts in there. I scheduled those shows just a minute or two after their real start time to get the content transferred, just FYI. Started building the cue sheets as well. Got the first three days done. SE screenings went smoothly. Projection Admin (and Close) 10/19

To do this evening/ was completed: Real quick - It was a great day! For tonight, I've let MOD know that, since I'm more comfortable staying until most of the last round starts (due to some funky server issues we've been having), I'm going to go see a movie in T2 and can silently text with them if they need anything or should anything go wrong (knocking on wood).  Extremely thrilled to say that all three NewFest shows went very well this morning/afternoon. It was definitely a bit of a magic trick with some overlapping intros/Q&As but having my personal ROS helped so much. Thank you to Desmond, NewFest rockstar.  Desmond and I double checked all shows before doors. Gaffed the wired mics and tested everything. Since one guest for the q&a in T2 wasn't comfortable with the chairs, we swapped our directors chairs for the ones in the bar, which still worked super well with the slides and spots.  Had to ride the mic in trees a bit since everyone's got a differen...

NPP Projection Report 4/6 Open

To do this evening/ was completed: Theater 3 issue happened again, Carly radioed me that the second round preshow didn't start. I was able to restart the projector and put the preshow on about 12 minutes before lights down. Trailers/feature played fine after that. I wrote again to DMS and Jerry said he'll have a list of parts to replace on Monday. For the sake of clarity, here is everything I've gathered about this issue: -When it happens, you won't be able to control playback via the TMS, manually fire automation cues, or access the IMS web GUI at all -Schedules for Theater 3 will display as "KDM missing" and the storage health icon on the Overview page will say "Storage degraded," even though the storage is healthy and KDMs have been uploaded and are active. -This issue prevents the server from validating KDMs (even though they are there and valid), so encrypted content will not play with the server in this state.
