NPP Projection Report 12/19 Admin


To do this evening/ was completed: We need to keep an eye on Theater 4 storage. It's got several first run features and rep DCPs, none of which can be deleted yet. On Sunday we'll need to delete A Real Pain after it screens in there (6:30 showtime) as Nosferatu is queued to transfer to 4 on Monday. Deleting that and Don't Look Back should give us plenty of space for the transfer.

Presentation Issues:

Preshow Clips/Playlist: Built Nosferatu and scheduled it plus a few others which hadn't been scheduled for Xmas eve onward

Trailer Updates:

Special Events/ AV set up: Ran loops for Insomnia tonight

Went around checking the 1.66 lens files and masking since Nosferatu is in this ratio. All are set. Did notice that a separate 1.66 masking cue was made (though when you fired this cue the curtains did not mask for 1.66, it was more like 1.37, so it's puzzling why this was done). I'd made a 1.37/1.66 cue in Theaters 3 and 7 not to have one masking preset to use for both ratios, but to have a designated cue for both which we can adjust the motor preset for as necessary, keeping it at 1.66 as the default. This is explained in the manual. Please don't make new masking cues on the servers without asking me first as it makes things confusing for everyone else. You can adjust the presets on the motor that are already saved as cues, but please don't make any new masking cues.
-In this process ran an auto LampLOC in Theater 1 as the light distribution was looking fairly uneven with the white test pattern up. Looks a lot better now.

Ordering/Receiving (posters & trailers):

Ordering/Receiving (content): Received Howl's Moving Castle and Legend of Billie Jean prints

Started the DCP of Heat down in 1 (DCPIII drive)

Outgoing/Shipping (content): Jumanji print picked up.

Print/video Inspection: Checked Don't Look Back and adjusted the masking preset to 1.33. Cue is still labeled 1.37 on the server, but will mask the feature properly. Looks/sounds great.

Both new first runs are ready to rock at 5.5.

Inspected Howl's. It's in very good shape and on house reels for when we're ready for it.

Projection Admin (and Close) 10/19

To do this evening/ was completed: Real quick - It was a great day! For tonight, I've let MOD know that, since I'm more comfortable staying until most of the last round starts (due to some funky server issues we've been having), I'm going to go see a movie in T2 and can silently text with them if they need anything or should anything go wrong (knocking on wood).  Extremely thrilled to say that all three NewFest shows went very well this morning/afternoon. It was definitely a bit of a magic trick with some overlapping intros/Q&As but having my personal ROS helped so much. Thank you to Desmond, NewFest rockstar.  Desmond and I double checked all shows before doors. Gaffed the wired mics and tested everything. Since one guest for the q&a in T2 wasn't comfortable with the chairs, we swapped our directors chairs for the ones in the bar, which still worked super well with the slides and spots.  Had to ride the mic in trees a bit since everyone's got a differen...

NPP Projection Report 4/6 Open

To do this evening/ was completed: Theater 3 issue happened again, Carly radioed me that the second round preshow didn't start. I was able to restart the projector and put the preshow on about 12 minutes before lights down. Trailers/feature played fine after that. I wrote again to DMS and Jerry said he'll have a list of parts to replace on Monday. For the sake of clarity, here is everything I've gathered about this issue: -When it happens, you won't be able to control playback via the TMS, manually fire automation cues, or access the IMS web GUI at all -Schedules for Theater 3 will display as "KDM missing" and the storage health icon on the Overview page will say "Storage degraded," even though the storage is healthy and KDMs have been uploaded and are active. -This issue prevents the server from validating KDMs (even though they are there and valid), so encrypted content will not play with the server in this state.
