NPP Projection Report 12/5 Admin

To do this evening/ was completed: I started a Google doc with notes about Screenwriter as we get used to the new software. Feel free to add anything to it as we figure things out. I've shared it with everyone and you can find it here.

The KDM is connected to Screenwriter now so all keys should load automatically.

Presentation Issues:

Preshow Clips/Playlist: I spent a while working on playlists on Screenwriter, I know we said we were going to leave the schedule as is for this week, but I wanted to figure out how packs would get transferred between the new TMS and the IMSes. See the notes doc for what I figured out. Essentially sent all playlists from the IMSes to Screenwriter, added the packs we remade on Screenwriter, and sent them back to the IMS. The only playlist I didn't build on Screenwriter was Heretic since that finals tonight. 

Tl;dr, all current playlists exist on Screenwriter and runtimes are correct on the schedule. Except Heretic.

 Long winded explanation of why I did this for those curious:

-What prompted this was noticing that the Shutdown playlist didn’t load in any theater last night except for 1. I had noticed yesterday that the playlists on the Screenwriter schedule were 10 minutes shorter than they actually were because the trailer packs weren’t built on Screenwriter. Since the packs were all built and loaded on the IMSes they played as normal, so the playlists in actuality ended at the correct time, not 10 minutes early. Because Screenwriter automatically schedules the Shutdown playlist 5 minutes after the last show ends, and it incorrectly thought everything was ending 10 minutes early, the time Screenwriter scheduled the Shutdown for overlapped with the last show and thus it didn’t load. The reason this didn’t happen in 1 was because of the 35mm show. Long story short I shouldn’t have deleted the Shutdown schedules we’d made earlier in the week but I just didn’t consider the effect the 10 minute difference would have on the automatic Shutdown schedules which Screenwriter would make. I also could’ve just left things as they were today and told Screenwriter to schedule the Shutdown 15 minutes after the last show or longer, but I wanted get the Shutdown schedule for this week the same as it always is and the first run playlists appearing correctly in Screenwriter. Learned a few things in the process, at least.

Pretty much all current preshow and trailer content has been transferred to the new TMS.

Print/video Inspection: Inspected Julie Darling, it's in OK shape, just a bit faded and vinegary. I let Cristina know and uploaded some pictures to the drive. On house reels.

Checked Queer and Sugarcane, both are good to go. Heads up I made a 1.90 screen file in T4 for Sugarcane, this looks good with the 1.85 masking. I put a cue in the playlist for the channel switch.
